A lighthearted one for the heat

I, like most children, thought my mum knew everything until the day DM asked "why is the tap water never as cold in the summer as it is in the winter?"

She didn't know that the pipes were t as cold?

Mine was asking my parents to help with my maths homework in year6. They hadn't a clue.

When I became an adult. I sort of imagined that all sorts of knowledge would be imparted to me at 18/21 but no...

From mid teens I knew that they were wrong on things. My dad has opinions on things and will argue a point if you don't agree, but in the right way, if you know what I mean.

Since my mother retired (about 20 years ago), she has become very opinionated and she is never wrong and if she disapproves of something, boy do you know it. She'd never admit it, but she really did fuck up a few times over the years.

My childhood was fine, but now being a parent, I can see where she made some howling mistakes, but she will always have been right.

I think (well I know) she very much disapproves of how me and my wife live our lives and in her eyes I'm probably the black sheep of the family as I don't conform to what she thinks is the right way to be.

I suspect average 13yr old has sussed this fact.

My mum says things that are totally wrong all the time as if they are gospel. She thinks I should be paying her new roof for hers as I will own her house one day. No realisation that I have my own house to maintain.
