Middle of the night car alarm

So for various (unrelated) reasons, I'm not sleeping very well at the moment, so sleep is at a premium.

And it's hot. Oh-so-hot.

Sunday night I treated myself to a really early night. Lights off at 21.30 - absolute bliss! Asleep almost immediately....

And then a neighbours car alarm went off at 02.10 and then again at 02.30.... So that's me then awake for the next few hours 😭

I did manage to get a bit more sleep from 05.00 - 6.30, but not what I was hoping for from an early night.

Unfortunately, due to the layout of my house, I couldn't work out where the car was.

Roll on to last night (Monday night).

The car alarm goes off again! 04.00 and 04.20....

I've been awake since then 😒

I've managed to work out which neighbour it was (acrobatics with a high-up window) and he's not really one of the friendliest people. I'm going to go round and see him later and let him know there's possibly a problem with his car alarm....

Anyone have any words of wisdom? Right now I'm just fantasising about hitting his car with a frying pan.... Or maybe him.... 🤔

Annoyingly there's CCTV on his drive, so I'm having to curtail my imagination somewhat 😂 (not that I'd do criminal damage anyway, it's just nice to pretend).

I might get up now.... I may as well start my workday - I'm in a bad mood anyway 😂

I would just leave it. It might just be a one off. If it does it again then go round.

Could you put some white noise on when you go to bed? We have a van across the road that alarms every time it’s windy, but since I’ve played white noise at night it doesn’t disturb me anymore

It's done it twice, so not a once off 😔
I don't think I want to risk a third night in a row.

The white noise is a good tip. Though I love the silence of my house as I go to sleep (it doesn't creak or anything!). It would be a shame if I had to resort to that.

If you hear it then he obvs hears it. I imagine it's an animal or something which he can't do anything about. Maybe wait til it happens again because of you "tell" him about it now he's likely to say he knows so will be pointless and awkward for nothing
