Do you discuss MN with your DP/DH?

Curious to know, do you talk about things you've seen on MN with your DP/DH? Or have I broken some major hush hush rule 'what happens on MN stays on MN?'

Yes, of course. If something interesting of funny comes up I discuss it with whomever I think will find it interesting

happypotamus · 09/08/2020 11:37

Yes. I did that then he took up reading MN himself. He doesn't post and doesn't have a seperate login (as far as I know). He likes reading things he disagrees with and arguments on the internet (he also reads the comments on the Daily Mail website despite vehemently disagreeing with everything anyone says), so there are areas of MN that are perfect for that.

imaflutteringkite · 09/08/2020 11:40

I don't really talk about it a lot with DH as I see his eyes glaze over when I start mentioning MN but sometimes I tell him about funny/interesting ones as I read them.

Merename · 09/08/2020 11:43

Yes, often, when we have home/family decisions to make we sometimes agree to consult MN, although I tend to give more weight to the above I receive than him!!

Also like pp, he has joined and posted on occasion about politics and topics of interest for a good debate to try and convert people to his point of view

AnneLovesGilbert · 09/08/2020 11:43

Often. Why not?

LongPauseNoReply · 09/08/2020 11:44

Yes if there’s something interesting or funny. He sometimes reads a thread if it’s too complex to explain.

Bringmewineandcake · 09/08/2020 11:46

Yes...he's fascinated by the ridiculous things people post about sometimes.
He wouldn't read MN himself tho, his rabbit hole of choice is those lists of '20 things you never knew about...' that are never as interesting as they claim.

Quackersandcheese3 · 09/08/2020 11:47

Yes I do. Think he enjoys the stories I come back with .

nobodysdaughter · 09/08/2020 12:05

Yes, but I chunter on at him about everything that springs to mind at any given time. Poor bloke!

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/08/2020 12:13

Yes. He thinks we’re all deeply sad.

EatsShootsAndRuns · 09/08/2020 13:15

Sometimes. Unless it contains a keyword which will generate a monologue (Brexit, education, debt, laws, benefits, tv licence... List is not exhaustive) on occasion I've accidentally mentioned one and the monologue starts. My eyes glaze over and I mentally start meal planning, my next craft project...

BitOfFun · 09/08/2020 13:27

Eats Grin

I totally do. Otherwise I'd be on my iPad all night and not talking to him.

GoshHashana · 09/08/2020 13:31

DH is interested in it because he works in early years and likes to know the current zeitgeist.

StormBaby · 09/08/2020 13:32

Well, I tell him what lies his ex wife is still posting about him on here 6 years on, we have a good laugh about that! I’m not sure he’d be interested in anything else.

rebecca102 · 09/08/2020 14:30

I don't only because my partner wouldn't be interested in the slightest haha

BitOfFun · 09/08/2020 15:24

Really, rebecca? I find it quite a good source for discussion, especially AIBU or Relationships.
