A friend has hired a huge house in the uk. 6 beds 3 bathrooms. They r a family or 3 and we are.

She has asked if we'd like to join them for a couple of nights. I'd love to but not sure what the most up to date guidelines are Ive been looking for the last hour!

You can do that I think but you need to socially distance while indoors

aibutohavethisusername · 08/08/2020 18:06

Where in the U.K. ?

RandomTree · 08/08/2020 18:07

Yes that's ok, if you're not in one of the local lockdown areas.

We just did this. You're two households so it's ok (as long as you're not in Preston, Manchester etc).

Overseasmom100 · 08/08/2020 18:14

Ah ok...it's inland North Devon...not near any touristy holiday spots. We were just going to go a chill... eat...drink...play board games etc. Just lovely company really plus we decided 2 nights then we're not encroaching on their family holiday etc

Two households can visit together but need to social distance.

ineedaholidaynow · 08/08/2020 18:16

You need to social distance, would you be able to do that whilst playing board games?

Mixing households indoors appears to be one of the main reasons the rates are going up in some areas

@PaquitaVariation

Two households can visit together but need to social distance.
Not if you or your friends are from one of the areas subject to additional restrictions eg Greater Manchester
Overseasmom100 · 08/08/2020 18:36

We are both from same area. We will be sat 2m apart we willbe sleeping in different rooms and using our own bathroom...kids too

We are both from same area.

Is that area in local lockdown? If yes, then you can't holiday together. If not, go and enjoy!

hopefulhalf · 08/08/2020 19:36

I cannot see how you can socially distance from someone you are living with. I think the guidence is seriously conflicting.

ineedaholidaynow · 08/08/2020 19:58

I would spend as much time as possible outside and the house well ventilated, but yes I can't really see how you could properly social distance when staying in the same house.

How old are your children?

LeatherFlanny · 09/08/2020 09:01

I think this is fine.
Remember it's 1 metre plus, with the plus being extra precautions. So in my family when playing board games we are washing hands first and wearing our masks.
Although half of my friends and family on social media have gone back to having big gatherings and hugging each other while posing for photos, so maybe I'm in the minority!

Overseasmom100 · 10/08/2020 08:41

We will def not be hugging!!! Im following evertthing and feel confortable about this hopefully weather will be good so we can be outdoors
