Help with DD's speech.

My DD is 2 years old and stays with my DP while DH and I work.

Her speech was always very good - I'm overall very happy with her pronunciation and vocabulary for her age. However, my idiotic DF has taught her to run her tongue over the front of her teeth when she pronounces the letter L. So for example, she'll say please, and as she says it she runs her tongue from the right side of her top teeth to the left side.

He thought it was funny weeks ago when she said 'ice lolly', but she's continued to do it with every word with an L and now I'm concerned it's became such a habit that she won't be able to to stop. I'm trying to explain to her that she doesn't need to do that, and let her watch me pronounce the same word without, but no luck.

Any advice on how I can get her to stop? Or will she grow out of it? I don't really want it affecting her speech.

I can't imagine what you're describing! How is she managing to say "L" whilst running her tongue over her teeth?

I'm sure it will pass though. DC are weird...they pick odd things up and that's that....they pass.

@FortunesFave it's difficult to describe! And obviously hard to do so she's struggling to get her words out 😕
