Do you have anything you want to share?

Dc's craziest reasons for meltdowns, have you baked the best cake ever, eaten two pounds of chocolate and feel happy (and full). Played with your lovely pets with included pics.

My reason for this... I was on a thread with a lot of projection, over interpreting etc. I stooped to teasing someone very full of themselves. I haven't felt this childish in years, actually made me quite cheerful. I'm over 50 so shouldn't go na na na na... na Blush.

Can we make each other's day a little brighter, please Smile.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking - so you were on a thread where you didn't like a poster's response, not the OP?

Yes agree about there is sometimes a lot of projection/misinterpretation on here.

It can make you feel a bit frazzled but important to realise it's only the internet.

I'd never be able to eat that amount of chocolate in one go!

giantangryrooster · 05/08/2020 18:47

Just felt cheerful, wondered if we could make a fun/happy thread Smile.

Ok...so I've had a nice day on the whole, my counsellor cheered me up (she's lovely).

Went a bit decadent and ordered food, should arrive half hour. Chatted to people.

Got stuff done.

What has been nice about your day? :)

giantangryrooster · 05/08/2020 19:30

Ohh take away, sounds nice Smile.

Well I haven't eaten any chocolate, wish I had though. Trying hard not to.

I heard from dd that she is back from a farm visit (education), she was up at 4am to have a go at milking cows and was scared shitless about the calves.

Knowing my dd, 4am is quite a joke to be up and about, and she was extatic about the calves, but they carry a bacteria that gives the runs, so she didn't dare touch them Grin.

Today my rather large cat is curled up in a very small box. Just because he can. The box is overflowing with cat, but somehow he is comfy enough to sleep. It makes me smile. Also, I did 70 squats today, a new record.

We went for a lovely walk today. Nice park with a lovely lake. We stood on the bridge and watched 6 fluffy little beautiful ducklings and their mama as they practised diving underwater and coming up.
The dc came home all excited, wanting to tell daddy. I thought they were excited about the ducklings, but no. They wanted to tell him about the two manky rats we saw running into the undergrowth.

Lazysundayafternoons · 05/08/2020 20:07

Ive had a 'genius baby' moment. You know the ones where OP says baby has done x y z and everyone picks apart the OP and says that sounds normal/behind for that age. But it's really made me cheerful so sharing here.
Been having a really stressful time WFH with ds6 and dbaby (13 months here).
Changed a wet nappy yesterday and ran back to my makeshift desk at the kitchen table. A minute later I saw dbaby crawling along, dragging the wet nappy with him. Was going to take it off him when I realised he was heading towards the bin. I watched him and he got to the bin, pulled himself up, opened the lid of the bin and put the nappy in, then closed the lid down again Shock.
(Today he took food out of the bin to try and eat it Grin)

giantangryrooster · 05/08/2020 20:08

demented feels like an insult addressing you, but yes yes to cats trying out even the smallest boxes, mine do it too Grin.

And congrats with your squat record, my thighs hurt just thinking about it.

Charles i hope you told your dh about the ducklings just as excitedly as your dc told about the rats Grin.

giantangryrooster · 05/08/2020 20:12

Lazy wow that is truly genius (perhaps leave out the eating from the bin bit when telling Grin).

I like this thread, I tend to get sucked into anxiety and worry about the state of the world at the moment!

I’ve had such a lovely start to the week. DS is an only child and is 4. We’re in Wales where lockdown was stricter for longer so he really hasn’t had much social time since March.

On Monday me and a friend from the village took DS and her DS, who are friends, for a five mile round trip with a stop at a cafe for breakfast. DS rode so nicely on his bike with his friend and was just so kind and polite and well mannered.

On Tuesday we met another friend with her two DC, 5 and 7, and did a 6k walk in the drizzle with their dog. Again, DS was so beautifully behaved and so happy to be with people his own age that I felt quite emotional. We got cake on the way home, then I dropped him at my in-laws while I went and had a hair cut and highlights for the first time in a year and a half!

Today we went for a walk and a chat with my oldest friend, who I lived when I fell pregnant with DS and until basically the week before he was born Grin and ‘our’ dog. Again, beautiful behaviour.

Baby guinea pigs - 10 days old. The adult isn't their Mum, we fostered them because their Mum died. That's another GP we had at the time.

molly that sounds lovely, bet your little boy is desperate for playtime and company.

twinguineas oh they are adorable, so glad you help them.
Reminds me, when I was a child we had a guineapig, he soon learned where the treats came from, so every time the fridge opened he would stand on his hind legs waving his little paws, screeching as loud as he could 🥰. My dad had to give up his late night snacking because he got outed every single time Grin.

Today me and DH started our holiday with a 2 hour ballroom dancing lesson (we are pretty rubbish but it's but it's good fun), followed by a picnic with friends.

And then I came home and tidied out the bathroom drawers and the medicine cabinet (everything was out of date and I have a huge box to take to the pharmacy tomorrow for disposal.). All accompanied by a 1979 playlist on Spotify. Cheesy tunes galore !

It's not the French holiday of my dreams, but it's a nice start and I wasn't on a single Zoom call all day, which was bloody marvellous Grin

They do that when they hear the kitchen door, they are full size now and know who gives them treats Grin very different from when we got them and had to syringe feed every few hours day and night.
Champagneforeveryone · 05/08/2020 22:53

ChampagneCat, we have had her for 2 weeks now.

That is all Smile

Love the cats. The one looks like our old cat, the one in the front of the photo.

Frownette · 06/08/2020 09:09

Gorgeous cats Smile

I've got today off, so have showered, done washing up, put a wash load on and now relaxing with a cup of tea.

Boring but peaceful and nice!

My grandson was staying last week. He asked me if he could stay here forever and I explained that no, Mummy and Daddy would be sad without him. I did tell him that when he was a bit older he could come on the plane by himself. After much thought he told me sadly that he wouldn't be able to do this as he had no car to drive himself here from the airport. He is 3. Made me smile.

optimisticpessimist01 · 06/08/2020 12:00

Walked my first mountain in the Lake District yesterday! Wasn't a big or prolific one but I've been wanting to go for years and I'm proud that I finally did one (and I didn't die from a heart attack mid-climb as I thought I would either!)

giantangryrooster · 06/08/2020 13:51

doyounot aww keep him, he sounds adorable Smile.

optimistic congrats on your walk, even more congrats at surviving it. Guess the first part of your username won Grin.
