Survival of the grumpy toddler

Bloody hell I need help today.
Ds is 22 months, he has been under the weather for a few days (was covid tested on Monday as a just in case and it was negative, as was my test).
He has been up since 4am every day for about a week now, nothing fixes it. He wakes up crying, in a massive fluff. Won't be cuddled, won't let me get in with him, won't get in with us, won't let me leave the room though.
Today was the worst, he has woken up at 4am in a huge fluff, screaming, hands in mouth so think teething too, woken up the whole block of flats and probably the rest of the street too. Tried everything, asked for bottle so gave in and gave it to him, didn't want it. Ugh it was a nightmare. He's finally calmed down and Cbeebies has cirpily just told me it's Wednesday, which is the day ds doesn't go to nursery. He is already grabbing his shoes to go out. I honestly don't know if I can do this today. I obviously will because that's what you do but fuck me, I'm already counting down the hours till bedtime!
So, what can I do with the grumpy toddler today? I feel everything may turn into a battle so I want to get him out. He reliably sleeps in the car so could drive somewhere, a day out maybe, more for me than him, ill be honest! Or is that just asking for trouble? Dh has to go to work the poor sod but my mum is free to join us if we like. Help me, I've drawn a blank! It's 6.30am and ds is already in the bath with dh as a distraction!

Ah bless you, jusy want to send a bunch of Flowers and say I'm also up with my 20 month old although luckily he seems in an ok fettle today. At least that 'show me show me' doesn't seem to be on cbeebies on a weekday anymore what even is that? Confused anyway have you a beach you can easily get too? I love it because they can pretty much run wild without the need to tell them to stop doing things all the time! Just about guaranteed a sleep in the car afterwards as well 😆

Also if you just need snacks and Cbeebies to get you through today then that's fine, it's 1 day and hopefully he's feeling better later 😊

Out somewhere, as much as possible. Park, woods, whatever!

Make a Picnic, throw everything in the car and go - work it out on route. Everything seems infinitely better once you’re out the house!

I took your advice and bundled him in the car and drove for an hour, ended up at my mums! At least I know he will sleep on the way home too and maybe that will reset him for tonight... Ready to do it all again tomorrow morning

Ah lovely, I hope your day gets better and he's ok, it's hard work at times but we all do the best week can and no 2 days are the same 😊
