Could I ask for help with appointments please?

Hi, I've realised I'm nervous tonight as my kid has opticians and doctor, is his first appointments.

We're not hiding but I am cautious, he went to school before summer.

Could any one please help? I'm stressed, suddenly, it's because they are 'medical' settings. Sorry to be a bit silly.

Do you mean because of the coronavirus? If so don’t worry, they’ll be taking all the precautions necessary to avoid spreading the virus. As long as you both follow the guidelines the risk is really really low.

Yes I do, is because they are medical, plus the virus. I was fine at the weekend in a jolly museum.

Thank you for answering, I'm in a right tizz, first time in ages!

I think it’s normal to feel anxious because it’s a medical setting, but as a PP said they will be taking all necessary precautions.

I felt the same when I had a hospital appointment a few weeks ago but it was fine x

Medical settings will be cleaner than your average shop, I daresay. I wouldn't worry.

labyrinthloafer · 04/08/2020 21:47

Thanks all for replying. I've decided I'm going to do it one bit at a time, walk to the shop, if I freak I can turn tail and just pay.

I think I will be ok when I see them (I've been lots of times).

Isn't this a 'mare, every new situation feels like a big deal!

I sympathise OP. At first it all seems scary and like you are doing things for the first time.
Write a list of things to take, ie. masks, hand gel etc.
I agree with previous poster that a medical setting will be extra safe.
Good luck

I had to take my mu for a CT scan a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't help feeling a bit worried. I felt like I was coming out of a nuclear bunkerGrin. I think it's to be expected after everything that's been happening.it's all very surreal.

All was fine. There were only a couple of other people in the waiting room and the chairs had been arranged so that nobody was sitting too close to anyone else. The nurse took my mum's temperature when she arrived, then he came back and very politely asked if he could take mine too!

Please try not to worry. Medical settings are extremely safe.

Sorry, it was my mum I took - not sure what a mu is. Maybe some sort of cat?!
