How can I make this corner cabinet look better?

It's shit isn't it but I just don't know what else to put on the shelves. I love the cabinet but don't like how the shelves look.

In my last house I had a big Victorian bathroom where it lived and it looked great there. Here it doesn't seem to be fulfilling its potential but I don't know how to help it. Any ideas gratefully received!

Start collecting something.

We collect 1920's and 1930's ceramics by certain potteries ie Grays and Crown Devon. The shelves are crowded with them and look great together as the colour palette is of the era and work well together.

Sorry, forgot to say that we have a similar corner unit which we use for the collection.
