Renting white goods?

We are moving into an unfurnished rental for 3 months between selling and buying (new build) both of which have integrated appliances so we won't have any in the rental.

Is it possible to rent white goods? I'm worried they're linked to credit companies? I don't want it to affect our credit file and mortgage offer. We could try and buy or get from a free cycle site but then need to offload (and would rather not take from those who will need more urgently).

I think it’s simpler to buy second hand stuff. The only rentals I’ve ever heard of were the ones linked to credit companies and not an actual rental for 3 months.

The cost of delivering, installation, taking away and doing a full clean and technical check between renters wouldn’t make financial sense so I doubt you can genuinely rent wire goods.

Just buy second hand - small local appliance stores may well give you a good deal and buy them back after.

Yeah I'd buy second hand, look on local facebay selling groups , people often sell good enough stuff and it's be easier and less complicated than trying to rent from
somewhere with a contract . You can always resell it later or donate it. Hey if you get a free one then you can just donate it free as 3 months use won't damage it!

Maybe even borrow? You'd be surprised what people have in their garages , I have a "beer fridge" that is never used and switched off because it was my old fridge that I replaced for newer with better insides and a second small freezer that we use but would definitely lend a friend for a few months if she needed it. Again- ask on your fb!

Ps. It's not really a beer fridge, except it's an old unused fridge that I switch on about 3 times a year when we have a huge bbq garden party to put my stash of bbq meats and salads into, and to shove beers into chill on the day! It's useful at Christmas & NYE too when I host my huge family! I really ought get rid but it's in the garage not in way of anything and would cost me money to dispose of - frankly I like saying the beer fridge' 🤣

So I wonder if you have friends that have same borrowable stuff in their garages!

I did while at uni 15 years ago, but I guess that was before facebook marketplace etc.

Thanks all, will have a look on local groups, you don't happen to be East England @Sparticuscaticus ha?! Actually we are moving to a house with a garage and I did say to DH a spare fridge freezer could be really useful a little while ago so I suppose we wouldn't have to get rid of it really.

Hehe! There you go.. second hand one from facebay and chuck it in the garage once you move. Or resell it
