Sore hands- help!

I'm wondering if anyone has any amazing solutions for my poor hands. The washing/hand gelling etc etc has made my hands so sore and itchy that they are driving me mad. I've bought some Burt's Bees hand cream but it's doing nothing. Anyone got any suggestions for something to help sort it?

Neutrogena Norwegian is my preference. I hate the feeling if handcream and it's thick enough to actually do something but doesnt leave a bothersome residue.

Brilliant advice. Thanks so much. After a bit of googling last night I've got a suspicion it could be dyshidrotic eczema. I seem to have all the symptoms of this. Anyone got experience of this?

We all have excema, I had to stop using the gel and start wearing gloves instead. I tried only using the gel on my palms and fingertips, I'd even had to resort to using Anusol cream because it has a numbing agent in it.

This is what it looks like. Lumps and bumps under my skin as well as peeling and dry bits that are so sore and itchy it's driving me mad!

I have this. Its called pompholyx (which i think is the same thing).

It comes up when I'm stressed, and also in the summer.

If it gets really bad then get some hydrocortisone - sometimes moisturiser just doesnt cut it.

I think it is the same thing @sleepyhead. A google suggests that it is likely to be the hand gel causing it. Doesn't bode well as I'm a teacher so from September I'll be using it constantly...

@chocolatespiders

Aveeno skin relief for hands has been great and we were given small pots of centraben at work which is also good. I sometimes have to put sudo cream on the really sore bits overnight.
Second Aveeno!!
