Is toothpaste like shampoo?

Apparently it is good to switch shampoo after a while because your hair gets used to it.

This morning I reluctantly tried a new freebie toothpaste, I've always been a Colgate girl but this one was Oral-B. I can't believe it but my teeth and whole mouth feel so much cleaner!

So is toothpaste like shampoo or is Colgate just shite and I've got it wrong all these years?

Thanks you for your response to this important question Grin

I found electric toothbrush truly better than manual...
we have 7 types of toothpaste in the bathroom I might use. I can't say any of them is better than another for getting my teeth clean.

I can only use Colgate as it's the only one that doesn't make the lining of my mouth peel off. But Oral B and Sensodyne do leave my teeth feeling much fresher.

I've used Morrison's own brand (75p) for years and the dentist always comments on how clean my teeth are. Apparently the most important things are a good brushing technique, using an electric toothbrush and a toothpaste with 1450ppm fluoride.

I don’t stick to one brand I just buy the cheapest.

Oral B is the only toothpaste I buy since getting it as a sub. It makes my teeth feel super clean and tastes like the dentist so makes me think it’s better.

I’ve used the same shampoo for (mostly) years though. I’ve changed maybe 4 times in as many years and every time I do my hair goes to shit.

No. You can use one toothpaste as long as you like
Or switch each time

It’s all good

I use oral b now, mainly because I seem to be allergic or something to others .

I get really sore lips and mouth after a couple of days, it's weird!

I didn't even know Oral B made a toothpaste! Shock
gazes into fridge filled with peppers

I switch in between Oral B and Colgate depending on which has a better deal at supermarket on the day when I'm shopping. I tend to use the whitening toothpastes and do find the colegate ones quite annoying as they stain the sink but the Oral B ones make me gag each time so I'm considering trying a new brand which is good for whitening, doesn't stain sinks and doesn't make me gag :)

I've worked out that it's the silicate particles in toothpastes that give me mouth ulcers. I use corsodyl original. Can't use the others, particularly not the whitening one. Anything else tastes too sweet to have any business cleaning my teeth.
