Would you take this job?

I have an interview for a job next week. It is the same job I am doing now but more money and more opportunities for promotion. However I am part-time right now and my work is 10 minutes from my door whereas this is full time and a 30 minute commute. I have 4 dc (2 at primary atm) and my current job fits really well around the kids.

Next year (sept 2021) DC3 will be moving to secondary. We would like him to go to a private school in the area that this new job is in. In order to send him privately we will need me to be on a full-time salary. My current job is a fixed term contract until June whereas new job is a permanent contract.
I have worked FT over parts of the lockdown and it is hard. I'm not sure I can even manage that and I dont need to be FT until next September although more money would allow us to save right now.

Obviously I haven't even been offered the job but I stand a good chance as I already work with this company and have positive relationships with a number of their staff. I have absolutely no idea what I would do if they offered it to me.

Wwyd in this situation...

Thanks

I really think I'd take the job.
I say that as someone who went down to 3 days a week when my dc2 was born, and think it is lovely to work PT.
However, you say you want your dc to go to a Private school and you need to be on a FT salary for that to happen.
You also say you're on a fixed term contract in your current job and this will be a permanent contract.
A 30minute commute isn't even too bad.

It sounds like a no brainer to me.

Agree with above or the alternative solution is work part time and send DD to state school.

Thank you. We could send ds to state. He is not hugely academic but loves sport and our local one is really, really poor for sport. There are others out of area and I need to go and have a look before we make any decisions. Our two eldest are at grammars which really suit them. I think dc4 will also thrive in that environment but dc3 is a sensitive soul who needs his confidence boosting and to be valued for his merits. I feel like he would get lost in the state system.
If it weren't for the dc I wouldn't hesitate with this job.
