I think the only way I'm going to be able to get away this year is by myself. So I'm wondering, would it be okay or just a bit tragic?

Yes, I go riding in Andalusia every year (not this year tho). Riding in the morning, lunch, swim, read, siesta, dinner,wine. Company if there's others staying there or I eat with the owners. It's wonderful. I go alone and love it.

I don’t know who ether it’s lockdown land or zero alone time since March but boy that sounds good. And other descriptions on here.

@Toddlerteaplease

I'm currently on holiday on my own. The first 24 hours were tough but then it's been ok. But I feel very sad when asked how many people in my party. And I wish there was someone to take photos of me in nice places.
People will always ask... some people are just plane nosey and have no consideration. I personally wouldn’t question someone I didn’t know. I have had people come upto me and my child and ask us personal questions, I’ve also had people ask me “where my husband is”. I joked with a friend that the next person to ask I will said he died!. Don’t let it bother you. People are probably intrigued. I hope you have a fab break away!

Oh yes please, that'd be lovely Smile

Only for a short break though.

I never have but am considering it.

We have flights booked and DH can't quarantine on our return home. However I can. I'm toying with the idea of a solo 4 days away

As the mother of a toddler this sounds like bliss. Do it!

RainbowMum11 · 30/07/2020 21:01

Yes I have and yes I absolutely would do it again.

I used a company called Flashpack to go on a solo holiday to Vietnam at the bringing of the year: it wasn’t cheap but I had an amazing time. It’s aimed at people in 30’s and 40’s, all solo travelling/in the same boat. Beautiful botiwue holidays, great company and fantastic adventures. It was good As as a group of 14 there was always someone to do something with in free time... some would lounge by pool, some would go shopping, some would hit up a bar: would totally recommend

As a mother of 5 who has only had 2 holidays in the past 25 years without children, I would jump at the chance, to relax, visit new places that I would like to see and read as much as I wanted. Sounds like heaven, and its on my bucket list.

BMW6 · 30/07/2020 22:30

Have done it many times OP. Loved it. Take a book out with you in the evening so if you feel a bit "out of it" just read your engrossing book!
