If you had 24 hours "me time" but no screens....

Hi! I'm hoping you can inspire me. I don't live with ds dad so during school holidays I get quite a few days where I can have time to myself. The problem is that I'm useless at it and never know what to do with myself. I end up, doing jobs, eating, sleeping or mindlessly looking at my phone for hours.

So, if you had 24 hours to yourself but you were banned from screens, daytime naps, snacking outside of meals and doing jobs, what would you do?

Or is that a really tall order?

Nice long walk or cycle in a lovely area
Nice long bath
Good book
Catch up with friends
Day out with dm

Ever so slightly jealous here Envy

DamnYouAutocucumber · 27/07/2020 23:22

To the beach for a swim.

Tall order for me. In theory reading but I wouldn’t last the course. In normal times browse in shops. Swimming or the gym at time it won’t be packed.

Can you hop on a Euroshuttle?? Day trip to Paris??. Or to a spa..(.neither may be possible right now but THATS what I'd do in the event of being able to do it.!) Also....pottering about and doing nothing but essential jobs or sleeping is sort of self care, so I guess not feeling guilty about doing it too, and choosing projects that make you happy instead of stuff you have to do..?? Lucky you though. Xx enjoy it. Sounds like it's well deserved. Xx

I’d go for a walk, read, chat to some friends and not much else at the moment.
I know you said screens are banned but surely you meant your phone and allow a film or two....? That’s what I’d do in the evening.

Foxinthechickencoop · 27/07/2020 23:34

Sleep!
Meet friends
Go for a massive long dog walk or Horse ride or both

@ILiveInSalemsLot yep can definitely allow the films, I don't watch much tv usually so that would be a treat.

I love the idea of hopping on the Eurostar to Paris and I probably could...... I might make that a goal!

Great ideas everybody, thank you!

When my Son is with his dad I normally listen to lots of music, I can lose hours. I also use the time to catch up on boxsets and films I’ve been meaning to watch so that’s not much help to you.

I would love to do a really long walk or cycle that the kids wouldn't manage, take my book and sit somewhere with a view on a rug and read before heading home.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 27/07/2020 23:59

Read a long book with a drink and nibbles to hand.
Go to the theatre
Visit the sort of museum kids don’t like where you just want to wander around in peace
I live in London so a quiet afternoon in Kew Gardens would be on my list.
Afternoon tea
Cookery course
Craft class
