Has anyone watched this? What are your thoughts?

I'm from a similar culture but it's not something we tend to do anymore although it was extremely common in my parents generation.

Aparna and the Bolivian salt flats was hilarious. Poor girl.

It's funny in the age of Tinder etc. In some ways it's really not so different to swiping.

Some of them were nice Vyasar(?) and Nadia seemed lovely but the boy with the controlling mum, the jewellery man and Aparna were very extreme.

Nadia was definitely the best of the bunch.

Currently slightly addicted to this. From an Asian culture so find it fascinating. I agree that some of the characters are extreme but I love how the matchmaker Simi manages to open the minds to both their own behaviours but also others.

Haven't watched it all yet so not sure what happens at the end

It's very enjoyable in a voyeuristic, and sometimes, cringing way. Aparna was horrible, so negative and carping. No one would be good enough for her, she'd criticise and suck the joy out of everything. Akshay's mother was terrifying, but his wife-to-be was lovely, and she had a bit of steel, about intending to work. I think she'll save him from his mother. Vyasar gave me the creeps, he was so desperate and intense.

I've found out what happened to them all after but I won't spoil it. Google when youve finished watching though.
