Care package ideas for new mums

I wanted to buy a care package for a pregnant friend who is due to give birth soon, she's found being pregnant during lockdown difficult and has had a tricky pregnancy.
I've had a look on Etsy for care packages and their all a bit naff. What could I put in there?

I had DS on 15 July and have really appreciated a box of gooey bite size bakery brownies!

Good idea. I thought take away vouchers and maybe PJs too

Things I would have loved:

Lansinoh (assuming your friend has indicated she'll try breastfeeding).
Chocolate/flapjack/snacks.
Reusable water bottle (easy to open with one hand).
Large muslins.
Lip balm.
Hand cream (something 'low scent'/baby compatible).
Nappy caddy with handle (useful both for actually storing nappies, or as an easy to carry organiser for snacks/water/stuff for when you get stuck on the sofa with a newborn!).
Changing clutch bag/mat... I loved mine and it's still going strong almost 2 years in!

A friend and I bought one recently from Etsy from an American company for a friend in the US.
It had a few bits in it including really nice nice dry shampoo, a lavender eye mask, chocolate, nice fluffy socks and a thermal mug for hot drinks while breastfeeding. You could maybe make your own and add similar stuff according to budget.
Our friend was particularly appreciative of the dry shampoo! Grin

I think breast feeding friendly pj’s are a great idea. I don’t think you can have too many as a lot of new mums end up living in them for the first few months weeks.

Flapjacks, little packets of nuts and dried fruit. Lipbalm and handcream.

I was given a thermos mug for night feeds.
Make it when you go to bed and you have a hot drink when you wake up for a night feed. I loved it.

My friend made one for me which I absolutely loved. She delivered it a week before my due date.
It was a basket divided into 2. The first section was things for the birth. Like a hand fan, face mist, spritz for bitz, lip balm, pack of bobbles, tissues, dry shampoo, moisturizer, and some travel sized bottles of toiletries. The after section was filled with easy to eat snacks, a book, pyjamas, a flask with a huge straw on it for breastfeeding which was amazing!!! She filled it with little notes and honestly it was amazing.
So many people buy gifts for the new baby it’s nice to get a gift for you

My Dm bought me snipes of champagne- so nice because you won't open a bottle just the two of you with a newborn to look after, but a snipe is perfect for a toast.

Just lots of chocolate!!! I have a six day old and an 18 month old and I am starving all the time right now!!

I’m 34 weeks at the moment and have had a shit pregnancy. If I were to get a lovely, thoughtful package afterwards (which I won’t as I have no friends Blush) I would love:

A takeaway voucher
A box of nice chocolates
Cake
A nice thermal mug
A nice blanket for me for night feeds
