Best verruca treatment?

DS (11) has about half a dozen of the little buggers.

We've used a freezing treatment before now, but its pretty savage! But I remember using Bazuka and that not being very effective.

Is there anything else you'd recommend?

My ds uses Bazuka...it works a treat...they've got a higher strength one now I think.

We've only ever found freezing effective.

The Scholl pen is amazing. Never failed to kill them with a couple of applications, sometimes only needed one dab of it and fallen off few days later.

Try the varucca plasters

Ds 5 has one huge one.
Some sweet talk and the promise of new football boots and the stuff is being used effectively and with cooperation!!

I got verucca on my hand that was particularly difficult to shift, I tried everything but up in the end bazuka was the most effective. Follow the instructions and don't get disheartened, it took me almost 6 months of treatment to get rid of mine

Wartner- used once on DS and it went.

The only thing that I found worked was using duct tape - just put a piece of duct tape over the verruca/s - I sometimes had to use extra medical tape to hold it on. Every time it came off just put more on. I think they also recommend after about 6 days you should then try file it down with an emery board. I found the verruca eventually just came away with the tape which was pretty gross but effective.
Bazuka never worked for us.

I took my daughter to a private podiatrist and they put silver nitrate on them and they cleared up pretty fast. We had tried that at home remedies and they didn't work. It was about £26 for the appointment and treatments but well worth it.

Duct tape. Absolutely amazing.

Nail polish! We tried bazuka for months and it wouldn't go. After 3 weeks of painting it with nail polish every night it dried up and healed.

Duct tape! Getting rid of a huge verruca I’ve had for years has been my lockdown project

You keep the duct tape on for 6 days, replace it ASAP when it falls off (like in the bath or shower etc.), then after 6 days, soak it and file it with an emery board or pumice stone. Keep the tape off until the next day and repeat. I started on a Monday so it was easy to keep track; soaked and filed it on a Sunday and put the tape back on on Monday.

It’s a looong process but it works! Wish I could post my before and after pictures but think that’s too far

DD had a verruca last year, we tried bazuka and it really didn't do anything other than make her foot sore and ruin my favourite blouse 😡.

I tried MN advice and painted it with black nail polish, covered It with duct tape and after about 5 days it looked like something was happening, I then dabbed with tea tree oil daily and within a day or two it just fell out. DD was overjoyed to get rid and a little bit 🙈 at the hole in her foot, but that quickly resolved itself.

Do Not Try This At Home but as a teen I dug mine out with a compass after nearly a full year of missing an afternoon of school a week to travel to a chiropodist for treatment..

Not envy.

I had a major verruca outbreak in my late teens, had at least 15 on each foot. Nothing worked, i tried countless treatments and tricks. One day, after a couple of years of having them, they all just fell out. It was amazing.. never had one since.

We’ve tried bazzuca, Wartner, salictal, banana skin, duct tape, nail varnish, thuja, tea tree oil, emery boards, digging around them, some rubbish stuff off amazon with great reviews which turns out customers were paid off to remove bad reviews and given £10 to leave a good one, marigold oil, freezing, verruca plasters and silver plasters. They are still there 4 years on. Quite embarrassing for dd as she is both a competitive swimmer and gymnast so always exposing her feet.

My daughter had them and our nurse recommended duct tape. Worked a treat!

Just cut off enough to cover the verucca, put on clean dry foot and put a new bit on every day after a shower/bath.

Was painful and tried all sorts of treatments including bazuka, duct tape, banana skins, Nail polish, thuji berries and a private podiatrist weekly. Nothing worked and I resigned myself to always having it. Then suddenly it just went. I noticed it hasn’t hurt me for a while look and it had gone, just like that and I don’t know why or what I did?

I think it’s best to leave them alone.

Similar here. In the end seeing a dermatologist who did a combination of freezing, and using both Imiquimod and Cantharidin got rid of them.

I’d try the scholl pen if you haven’t yet. It can take 4 cycles of 4 days on/4 days off but it seems pretty effective.
