I've just spilled a flask of boiling water over my hand. Getting prepped for night feeds with my 6 week old (I use the tommeebtippee flask water to warm up expressed breast milk. I couldn't have closed the lid properly and bent down to pick a towel off the floor and the water tipped out over the back of my hand. I've had it under cold tap since. It hurts like buggery! Any tips on how to help? I am in sole care of my baby as my dh has been out and came home drunk.

I poured a cup of boiling water on myself recently and lifted my skin off (nice scar left). I used an ice pack and took painkillers. It’s easy to forget otc painkillers but they bloody help. I have a burn gel that is similar to the one they use in ambulances and it really works (consistency of aloe vera) had to apply it twice as the pain was awful.

I went to the pharmacist for advice and they told me to A&E. the nurse popped
The blister and dressed it. I have to re-dress daily. It looks painfully but it really isn't unless I knock it.

Ouch. Did the nurse tell you that you should probably keep that hand out of the sun for a couple of years? That is going to be sensitive for a long time.

Blizy · 28/07/2020 23:13

@TheBlessedCheesemaker yes, she she also reckons it's going to leave me scarred. She was contemplating de roofing the blister but it was decided to drain it instead.
