Desperately seeking motivation

I struggle at the best of times with my motivation but with the shit show that is going on at the moment it is at an all time low.

If you are someone who can just get on with what needs to be done please tell me your secret.

I need to lose a ton of weight
I am doing an OU degree and need to get organised.
And the usual house stuff.

I am now on summer holidays which I have been looking forward to and the last few months have been really stressful. But of course all the things I would normally look forward to have just disappeared.

I don't want to get really down but I can feel myself sliding.

can't offer any advice but I could have written your post myself! it's so frustrating when you know you have to do stuff, just can't rouse yourself, then feel crap for not doing it.

I need a socially distanced boot up the bum please!

The only thing that helps me when I’m in that frame of mind (and I do sympathise!) is writing a list. If you have loads of things to do, maybe don’t write them all down as it could be a bit overwhelming, but I do find it quite satisfying striking a line through each item as I complete them.
Make sure you’ve got lots of easily-achievable things on there, and if there’s a big task, try listing it as several items, eg. hoover upstairs, hoover downstairs. Or for your OU stuff, break it down into lots of small items, like clearing desk space, organising files/paperwork, and then maybe a bit of reading for whatever needs doing.
Good luck!

Thank you both @Fruitflylady I am very good at list writing but that can turn into massive procrastinating. The weight loss is something that I have struggled with for years. I stopped smoking years ago so I do have some willpower there but not for stopping snacking apparently.

Also I am great if I have 100 things to do, but at the moment it is just the boring stuff that needs to be done (mostly) I think I will get ready and go for a walk in the sunshine. This can work sometimes to get me in a better frame of mind.

Sending a boot up the bum for you @toothpasteinmytea Sorry you are feeling the same. I am finding it really frustrating.

I do lists but really break it down (depending on how low I feel). Might be clean bathroom (never clean house), might be clean shower. If I do the shower I sometimes get the motivation to clean the toilet or whole bathroom. Even if it is just shower get sense of achievement.

I sometimes put something on list that I’m about to do. I very quickly get to tick/cross out. This might be as small as put on shoes/dry hair
