Can anyone identify these?

I found a box of old banknotes whilst clearing my late grandparents house. I've managed to identify some but these have me completely stumped and no amount of googling is helping.
So I'm calling on the sleuths of MN to help me solve the mystery of what these could be...?
Last pic is what the back of them all look like.
Please help me piece it all together!

Google says Ciudad de Nuestra Senora de la Paz is in the Dominican Republic. They do have pesos there but yours look different than the ones Google is showing. Maybe they're the older style?

Yes the picture on the back is La Paz, Bolivia. My grandfather did work in Venezuela for a few years but I can't find anything about these particular notes.

Could they be from a board game? The design seems much simpler than any real notes I could find on google.

Maybe they were notes issued by a bank rather than being the only national currency - like Scotland?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 21/07/2020 15:29

Bumping because I want to know too!

TerracottaTortoise · 21/07/2020 15:57

Thank you @YetAnotherSpartacus 😂

Banco Popular was an old bank so longer existing, I believe it got bought out by Santander.

*no longer existing
(damn autocorrect)

Update: I find this sort of stuff fascinating so I've just done a bit of research!
Bolivia used pesos as currency between 1963 and 1986, so your notes must be from some time in that period.
Banco Popular in Bolivia was bought out by a Peruvian bank, Banco de Credito in the 90s.
The image on the back, as someone correctly said, is La Paz in Bolivia. I spent a month there some time ago, fascinating city, as is the rest of Bolivia, I recommend visiting if of interest.

Has anyone actually found online pictures of the notes? I searched but could not find anything!

@YetAnotherSpartacus

No I think they are either very regional due to political upheaval or are some sort of coupon. I'm still trying to find out more info x
