Not sure whether to do this or not but I worked in a well known uni office until February time (there in total a year).
I was not well liked in the office but tried my best but I was obviously different from the rest of the office.
I’ve happily left and moved on. However I was always seen by management as the problem because I didn’t fit.
The reason I didn’t was because I did not agree with behaviour of the office staff.
The receptionists were openly racist eg ‘bloody Nigerians always annoying’ ‘oh no it’s the fucking Canadians’ etc
The support staff were vile often criticising the students they should have been helping so many examples but the one I said I found sickening was when they had a sucidal student in and after she left said ‘fed up of seeing her she should get on with it’ criticising her weight and personal hygiene.
I did send letter to the office manager which was ignored.
It’s really not of my business now but the thought of students starting there in sept is playing on my mind.
If I should do something how would I go about it?

You don’t know your letter was ignored. You might just not have been updated as to what happened.

I didn’t put any actions in the letter it was more ‘I’m concerned and now I’m leaving I would to discuss those concerns’ nothing back

Once you left, you're out of the loop. The only reason they'll contact you is to ask you for a statement if there's a legsl proceeding.

Even if you aren't the person being mocked, you can still claim harassment under the equality act 2010 if being a witness to that behaviour made you feel uncomfortable, intimidated, harassed.

However, you have 3 months minus 1 day to make a tribunal claim for harassment and its too late now. You should have chased up your grievance letter but you didn't.

If you sent the letter to the manager within the last 3 months, then you could make a claim (and I bloody would in these circumstances, why should they get away with it? Even if you only do the ACAS conciliation stage)

You should write to HR and not the office manager, so you could still do that if nothing else.

I wouldn’t be covered by their whistle blowing policy then 😔
Should have done more but at the time I was so broken by their behaviour

Would hr hold a statement on file if I made one in case anything comes out in the future
