Masks (NOT a moaning thread!)

Need to order some masks but I'm honestly not sure what kind to buy - washable or disposable. Leaning towards the washable ones but they all seem so flaming expensive! I have sensory issues so the cloth ones are probably going to be better for me than the paper type but they all seem to have ear loops which I can't bear!

Any ideas? If you've bought washable masks recently and they're decent, which did you get?

Thank you 😊

If you find one you like but no nose bridge you can get those stick on ones from Amazon. They really do help with glasses fog!

Someone near me is making and selling
some nice cotton ones on Etsy, £4.00 for the simple elasticated.type, or £7.00 for slightly fancier masks with metal nose wire. Price includes free postage. Shop name is “chezlila” worth a look as very reasonably priced, well made fabric masks.

Bought first one from someone on Etsy, washable, 3 layers, cotton for £10 ea back at the start.
Last week ordered a pack of 5 from Boden for £30 - again, washable, 3 layers etc & nice prints, plus the elastic is wrapped in material.

If you can't bear them around your ears, i crocheted some little holders ( about 15cm long 2.5 wide, with buttons on either end). They sit in the back of your head and you hook the elastic around the buttons. I think you can get them on etsy/ebay although I just had them out to my friends as I had some cotton yarn leftover.

Yes I've been making 'ear savers' as a side project to the masks I've been making. Just a loop of pretty fabric with a popper fastening.

I got mine from Etsy,. they're the type with folds in - not sure what they're called - and have a filter pocket and a nose wire. Using the wire does stop my glasses steaming up. Mine attach around my ear, but the straps are adjustable so they really comfortable.

If you have sensory issues, maybe try silk ones. They're supposed to be really effective, and although not cheap, are apparently very comfortable to wear, and a bit cooler in hotter weather.
