Would working lots of agency put an employer off?

Or will it be seen as having a wider experience? My friend in health care has only ever done agency seen qualifying 3 years ago. Think along the lines of physio. Shes had sone really interesting agency jobs and now where she is working has offered her bank permanently as shes made it clear she doesnt want a full time job with them. In the meantime her agency has offered her a three month placement in a central London hospital, an hours commute away in an area she hasnt worked in. On top of that she has applied for some interesting London permanent jobs. She wants to take the three month agency job now and doesnt think it will matter if she gets interviews for the permanent jobs as it looks good that she will have already worked in central teaching.

What do you think?

I think if you have a decent explanation and good experience it is fine.

So 'I wanted to try lots of different environments and get a wide range of experience' rather than 'I fall out with colleagues all the time'.

In health care it is quite normal I think?

Sometimes, long term agency can be a sign of 'cant hold down a permanent job' but a clear cut explanation is fine. Most people are moving around jobs every few years anyway, so it is becoming more common.

I returned to work at 57. I was a Civil Servant up to age 53 then took early retirement. At first, I could only get a series of temporary jobs on my return to work, although of course I did apply for permanent ones as well. Financially I had no option but to take the temp jobs offered.
At one interview for a permanent role, the interviewer was rather unpleasant about the list of temp roles on my CV.
I didn't get the job, and I'm sure she though I was a bit flaky, completely ignoring my 34 year stint in the Civil Service.
