2 DS, 1 & 7. They are both constantly on the go, which is fine usually but with lockdown they've developed cabin fever and it seems to have gotten worse, despite taking them out to run around alot more. I am currently sitting on the sofa while one is running around the kitchen and the other is bouncing on his trampoline - its bloody relentless!

Other kids sit nicely, we go to groups and its always one of mine that gets up, won't sit still for a second or even to eat a snack, despite us trying our best to instill this in them.

I meet myself going backwards sometimes and it is just exhausting! Is it just me?! It certainly feels like it! Gin

Nope, mine are always on the go. Not ones to sit down and draw or colour. It's shattering.

Thattwatoverthere · 14/07/2020 18:31

Mine are 1 and 2 and oh dear god I'm going mad.
Lots of running, hurting themselves, and fighting going on. I can't wait for them to go back to nursery so I can breathe. No chance of having quiet film time with these two 😩

Jemimatheragdoll · 14/07/2020 18:44

I feel for you Mammabear, mine were like that until they hit their teens, it is completely and utterly exhausting.

My kids will only sit still for Lego or the telly. Otherwise it's go go go.

Shmithecat2 · 14/07/2020 18:49

Ds doesn't really. Drives me potty. So I send him to preschool 4 days a week, 6 hours a day. Absolute bliss right now.

Planetaryexplorer · 14/07/2020 18:49

Two if my four are like this and the other two are not what you would call low energy.
The eldest is nearly 15 and still the majority of his entertainment revolves around setting up hockey obstacle course or wrestling.

Xmasbaby11 · 14/07/2020 18:55

Mine are 6 and 8. Sometimes stop moving but never stop talking, and talk over each other all the time. They never run out of things to say. I'm utterly exhausted.

MilkRunningOutAgain · 14/07/2020 18:56

My DS was like that. He improved quite a bit at puberty and is now17 & a dedicated long distance runner. Could the 7 year old go for a run around the block, if that was possible where you live? Mine used to do this for hours at a time at that age. I used to pretend to time every 10 laps.

formerbabe · 14/07/2020 18:57

My ds was like this until about age 10. He was like a dog who just needed feeding and lots of exercise! I think I spent every weekend of my life in the park for a decade.

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 14/07/2020 18:59

Exact same here . My two girls NEVER stop moving or talking . They have to be running, jumping , climbing , rolling , leaping all day long . It’s exhausting looking at them. We were out this morning but the rain has stopped us going out this afternoon and they have bundles of endless energy Gin

formerbabe · 14/07/2020 19:02

Sometimes just being in the same room as my ds would make me feel dizzy as he didn't stop...my dd is the opposite thankfully, will sit and concentrate on whatever she's doing for ages, reading, crafts etc

Mammabear31 · 14/07/2020 19:05

Oh my goodness I've found my people! I'm so, so pleased I'm not alone, misery does indeed love company Wine

Oh yes! To quote the Dowager Countess of Grantham, "It's just the on-and-on-ness of it".Sad

newnamenewgamenewpain · 14/07/2020 19:10

Mine are the same. My 3 year old DD makes me feel travel sick when she's constantly on the move around me and touching me

RowboatsinDisguise · 14/07/2020 19:13

My 22 month old is like this. We were at my parents house today, and I would sit down for 30 seconds and then have to go and retrieve him from the bottom of their (very large) garden. Utterly exhausting when you’ve got SPD and everything aches as it is!

drspouse · 14/07/2020 19:16

Mine is like this - 8 and with ADHD.
The younger one isn't quite so bad, she's 6, but she can talk the hind leg off a donkey.

MillieMoodle · 14/07/2020 19:17

YES! Mine are like this. DS(9) is a bit calmer now and will sit and watch a tv programme for half an hour, but DS(3) doesn't stop bouncing and talking all day. He goes on and on and on. He's bumped his head this afternoon leaping off the sofa, playing the Floor is Lava but we've also had a running commentary on absolutely everything. He even talks himself to sleep Gin

SickOfNorthernExile · 14/07/2020 19:19

Yeah. I’ve got a 3 year old who is constant. Worn out by him today tbh. Love the bones of him, of course, but he won’t sit still, and he won’t listen to a bloody word I say.

I’m ready to weep with exhaustion today tbh.

Trailing1 · 14/07/2020 19:19

Mine are 2 and 6. They do not stay still even for telly. They are very outdoorsy and high energy. I'm the complete opposite and with my health issues I just cant keep up.

Pickpick101 · 14/07/2020 19:20

Yes we have that near endless amounts of questions then the running commentary right through the day.

stophuggingme · 14/07/2020 19:23

My three make the Duracell bunny look lethargic
2,4 and 6

I could sleep on the hard shoulder of the M6
They have other ideas.

I look at all these people doing craft, projects nice things and I just feel like a WWF Smackdown referee

stophuggingme · 14/07/2020 19:24

The running and the talking and asking questions, asking why something is what, asking for snacks etc is just relentless

Today’s topic has been men that dress as women after they stumbled across a pixies video adelina on my YouTube playlist on the tv.

madcatladyforever · 14/07/2020 19:25

Sorry but mine (grown up now) used to spend hours reading, drawing and making crafts. I didn't hear a peep most of the time.
I actually do blame screens. 100%.

GreenLeafTurnip · 14/07/2020 19:27

I've found my people! Our 18 month old doesn't stop. Only to eat and that's only if he's really hungry otherwise he's off as soon as possible. My husband says there's something wrong with him but clearly it's normal child behaviour!

GreenLeafTurnip · 14/07/2020 19:30

@madcatladyforever how can you blame screens?! My son has never watched TV or had a screen so why doesn't he stop? Odd thing to say.
