What do you do with it all?

I have one toddler, due to fertility issues it’s super unlikely there will be any other children. He has a lot of toys and a lot of clothes. I think I buy in moderation but he still has so much.

I’ve given lots away to family and charity. How much of your children’s things do you keep? How much of it is sentimental and how much of it is ‘in case there is another one?’

Are you a keeper or seller/give away??

God I used to keep everything, our loft was full!

I went through it all and kept the sentimental bits - the outfit we brought him home in etc. The toys were used with our second and then everything donated to charity as she grew up.

I have kept near of all from DD1 and now I’m pregnant with DD2 I will pull it out to reuse. However once my second grows out of it I’m getting rid of 99% of it. I’m very unsentimental, and whilst it’s nice to keep things for friends, most of my friends are so far from having kids it would need to be stored for a long time and I don’t have the space.
Clothes will be chucked as they will have gone through 2 kids.
Selling it is nice is theory but it’s such a saturated market place.
I have given the odd item to the local council children’s centre (such a lovely place, I used to take DD to baby classes there as they were much better than the paid franchise ones). I will do this again with bigger, plastic items like baby walkers etc.

We've kept a box of first outfits/shoes but otherwise things DS2 is growing our of are piling up for the charity shop. We're certain that we're done and don't really have anyone to pass on to at the moment.

Facebook buy and sell is good for giving bits away for sale or for free, even the stuff that has been through a couple of children still has some splashing in the mud wear left in it maybe:) We can never have enough shorts and tracksuit bottoms here as they seem to go through 10 pairs a day once the paddling pool comes out!

For the stuff I keep, I go through it about once every year or two and when I no longer feel the attachment to it I let it go, its surprising how much stuff you stop recognising after a while.

I ebay clothes and toys and use the money to buy more age appropriate things. I barely keep anything for sentimental value. I have their first baby grow and first shoes and that’s it. We have some many pictures of her we don’t need to keep physical things as much.

I chuck everything, I'm not really sentimental about "stuff." I've kept DS's hospital outfit and a special personalised blanket but nothing apart from that. I don't want any more children so I don't keep anything for that reason. It all gets sold, chucked or given to charity.

I've got sooo much, all stacked up in plastic storage boxes in a little storage room. But it's getting full! Lots of baby clothes, favourite items of clothing, favourite toys... boxes of drawings, etc. I might edit it again. It will get easier when DS2 reaches the size of DS1 as about 4 boxes are the next couple of size up clothes that I kept.

I think I’m not sentimental but then think what if I miss it when he’s older?!
I think they grow so fast it’s hard keeping up and sorting through everything!

Clothing, I’ve only kept the handmade stuff. Everything else that’s not ripped or stained goes either to DNeice or to various friends. Decent quality toys (eg Duplo) in the loft, the rest either to DNeice or charity shops. Books are kept.
