Shaking like mad?

Went for a walk around a (local) nature walk today, about a 6/7 mile round trip. Took some food and a drink, it is definitely the most active I’ve been since lockdown started but it was really good to get out and stretch my legs.

I hurt everywhere now. Been home a few hours, had dinner etc but I’ve now started shaking like mad, I can’t stop. Heart is hammering too, feels like I’m having a panic attack (except without any of the other symptoms!) I don’t feel cold, just sore from my head to my toes, weak and trembling. Is this a normal reaction to increasing your physical activity? I used to have no problem whatsoever walking that distance and more pre lockdown. I’ve kept active with daily walks during lockdown but probably only about 2/3 miles instead of 6 Confused

Did you have a shower when you got home? Sometimes if you're covered in sweat it can make you shivery.

QuestionableMouse · 12/07/2020 18:37

Have a bite to eat and a hot drink. I sometimes get like that when I'm really tired.

TheHighestSardine · 12/07/2020 18:43

That's not a normal reaction to exercise, but it's not a common covid symptom either. You're probably coming down with a nasty fluish cold? That's what the all-over ache always means for me, whether I'm throaty/nosy or not.

No I don't think that sounds normal if you have had dinner. Maybe you need some sugar in your system. What did you eat?

PurpleButterflyAway · 12/07/2020 18:54

@tectonicplates yes had a shower, dried my hair etc afterwards too.

@Iminaglasscaseofemotion had some tuna pasta and salad for dinner then a caramel cream cake type thing after and a cup of coffee, maybe an hour and a half ago.

@TheHighestSardine really hope I’m not coming down with a flu type thing, will probably find out tomorrow morning if I am though. Always seem to wake up with them in full swing if I’m getting one!

It's been hot here today. Did you overheat?

AlCalavicci · 12/07/2020 19:04

If it was sunny or you got over warm ( it takes very little for me ) I would say its heat stroke .
try to drink plenty of water with a little salt and sugar but make sure the water is at body temp , cold water may shock your system .
It takes me 3 or 4 hours at least to start to feel normal ish again but a good 2 days to feel anything like better .

thaegumathteth · 12/07/2020 19:06

Have you got a thermometer to take your temperature?

PurpleButterflyAway · 12/07/2020 19:07

Ahh entirely possible I’ve overheated, it was quite cloudy here but warm, temp up to 19 here today. Will try the warm water, see if that helps a bit, thanks

Heatstroke? Look at the nhs website, I've had it a couple of times. Had achy muscles for a few days.

WitsEnding · 12/07/2020 19:19

I’ve had this recently, only difference is that I’m used to that amount of exercise. I could see my whole arm shaking in time to my pulse. Felt tired for a day or so but nothing came of it - could well be the heat for me as the sun often affects me.

thesedaysarescary · 12/07/2020 19:25

Could be blood sugar? That's how I feel when my sugar is high.

custardbear · 12/07/2020 19:31

I'm also going with heat issue. Rehydrate yourself too and lay down for a bit and see how you feel - call non emergency line if you feel worse or it continues though (I'm not medical!)

TheRealHousewife · 12/07/2020 19:42

@PurpleButterflyAway Get some electrolytes too! Possible dehydration is a factor in how you’re feeling. Hope you soon feel better.

betteliefsen · 12/07/2020 19:45

Try a banana and some coconut water.

bigbluebus · 12/07/2020 19:55

I was also going to say heat stroke. I remember having it once as a child. I'd been out for the day to a carnival with a friend. It was a hot day and we were outside all day. I probably didn't drink enough. I can remember going to bed that night and shaking constantly and being quite scared. Parents had gone out and older brother was in charge. I think i just drank water and eventually it calmed down.
