Do daily vitamins help really?

I've been feeling really tired lately, not for the first time tbh. I spoke to my aunt about it said and she said I should take a multivitamin as it would have VitaminD and stuff in that'd make me feel more awake. She's taken the for years and swears by them.
I'm skeptical tbh.

Well why not just try it and see if it works for you? If it doesn't help you can stop taking them.

That's what I'm thinking.
The ones she takes are only a few quid off Amazon.

no need for supplements if you eat properly and are in normal health, not a small child and not an OAP. In that case you get all the vitamins you need from food and being outside. The only exception is vitamin D - due to the latitude of the UK everyone should take a vitamin D supplement October to April.

BTW unusual tiredness is a reason to see a GP.

It depends what you need and are deficient in. Many Brits (assuming you’re in the UK) are vitamin D deficient due to our country not getting masses of sunshine. I was diagnosed vitamin D deficient and take a special high strength vitamin D supplement. I also take iron and a vitamin B complex due to being vegetarian/mostly vegan and having PMDD and heavy periods.

A decent multivitamin can’t hurt, but figuring out what you might be deficient in is more beneficial.

When dp was recovering from an illness he was taking multivitamins and i think they helped a lot. It may have been psychological but we both think it sped up the recovery not sure how beneficial if you are in normal health and eating well, but may be worth a try.

Well without going into symptoms and such, I basically feel tired all the time. I get plenty of rest and eat ok.
I can get up at 8 after 8 hours and be feeling sleepy and yawning by 10am.
I don't have stress or feel anxious or anything.

If you are deficient in vitamin D then, yes, taking vitamin D will help. Same with any other vitamin. If you're feeling tired, it could be vitamin B or iron as well as vit D. You need a blood test to find out though. I was very vitamin D deficient in the winter and felt terrible. Took some mega supplements for a few months and felt a lot better. When I had my vitamin D re-tested, my levels were normal/good.
