Have the bubbles been disregarded?

We are in a bubble with my mum -.me, dh and ds However, just seen on the news that people can now stay overnight in another person's house with up to 8 people from 3 different households. My ds has been asking to stay over at his friend's house (who has 7 siblings) for weeks now and I've continued to refuse. Would it be ok now or is the bubble idea still in place?

There would be more than 8 people so no?

dementedpixie · 10/07/2020 13:51

The total number of people in the house should not exceed 8 so no.

Does your mum live with you,?

I haven't seen the three household change. Where int he Uk are you (or elsewhere ve)?

dementedpixie · 10/07/2020 14:07

I think it applies in Scotland and the change happens today

dementedpixie · 10/07/2020 14:08

The changes which take effect from Friday will increase the size of gatherings that will be allowed in Scotland, and let people meet up indoors for the first time.

A maximum of 15 people from up to five different households will be allowed to meet outdoors, as long as they stay 2m apart.

"Limited" indoor gatherings can also take place, with a maximum of eight people from three different households allowed to meet - again while staying apart physically.

People will also be allowed to stay overnight - although Ms Sturgeon described this as "one of the highest risk changes we have made so far".

In Scotland that's the rule BUT you still have to maintain 2m distance although kids don't if under 12 but again, afaik only in Scotland.

Lockdownseperation · 10/07/2020 14:09

In England you can stay over at someone else house but you must maintain 2m distance or 1 m+ a mask.

Also it depends if you're happy with the risk . We aren't yet so won't be doing it.
