Dodgy stomach and a four year old

About a month ago my four year old was complaining about stomach pains, usually in the evening or first thing in the morning. Sometimes she used to clutch it but after about 8 days or so it subsided. I put it down to being anxious about returning to school even though she appears to be having a whale of a time. I would say for the past 2 weeks she has had a diarrhoea varing from quite severe to not too bad a couple of times a day. I don't want to particularly bother the GP but it's been quite a while now. Does anyone know what they would do? Would it be a case of collecting a sample for them to test? Nothing new has been introduced to her diet and she seems well in herself generally other than being shorter in breath some days, again not always, just sometimes.

I would definitely take her to the GP. It could be something and nothing but she needs to be checked out.
The shortness of breath would worry me more than the diarrhoea - they may or may not be related.
Either way, it has been going on for awhile and both of those symptoms should be checked out. The GP won’t see you as bothering them - that’s what they are there for.

Thank you @hippohector. I will call the GP. For some reason she has a huge aversion to going and will just clam up and cling to me for dear life, it puts me off putting her through it, but I do need to get to the bottom of it.

The stomach is very sensitive to stress and upset.

Is there history of migraine in the family ? My DS started abdominal migraines aged 6 and it took 10 months to diagnose despite me getting bad migraines!

He was often sick and curled up in the floor crying in pain.

Yes @InvincibleInvisibility, there is a history of migraine of the stomach in her grandmother. For the past two weeks though she hasn't been complaining of the stomach pain, that seems to have gone away, just the diarrhoea.
