Non-stick frying pan

I need a new frying pan. We've had our last one about 10 years and it's definitely past it's best.

Must be very good quality and non-stick.

Thank you!

This thread is quite old now, but if you’re looking for guidance on which kitchenware to buy, we’ve recently refreshed our best frying pan page with plenty of Mumsnetter-approved non-stick pans. We hope you find it useful.

Oh, me too. I will keep an eye on this thread for recommendations. It is one thing I promised myself I would buy after lockdown.

oooompa · 10/07/2020 10:57

Following because we are also in need of a good non-stick frying pan, the last attempt at pancakes was a disaster and resulted in very unhappy children 😭

And also a non-stick wok, our's currently has no handle so is rather difficult to use!!

Following too!

We decided against Teflon stuff because it just scratches and then comes off. We bought an enamel coated Barabantia one from TK Max and that seems OK.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 10/07/2020 11:04

Also, even with a non stick coating, pancakes always stick unless you put more oil in the pan between each pancake.

Fandanglethat · 10/07/2020 11:05

Yes, I don't rate teflon I've had a few in the past and they are rubbish. Our last one was a coated anodine one. But I can't seem to find another one.

Have a look at the le creusot ones, expensive but they do have a lifetime guarantee. Qvc sometimes have them on offer.

dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby · 10/07/2020 13:31

Recently bought some non-stick Circulon items and highly recommend. Also TEFAL good in my experience if you want a bit cheaper.

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/07/2020 13:34

Circulon. Don't put them in dishwasher though, just quick wipe with damp cloth.

HardAsSnails · 10/07/2020 13:40

I use GreenPan, the non stick last ages as long as you're careful with utensils.

HardAsSnails · 10/07/2020 13:41

Making sure you don't heat them up empty helps preserve the non-stick, always add oil or whatever before turning the hob on.

Le Creuset

Voyager54 · 10/07/2020 13:44

Can thoroughly recommend this one. Over the years we have used many pans and this is definitely very good and it is not put in the dishwasher.

Been in use since April.

Voyager54 · 10/07/2020 13:53

Sorry OP problem with Amazon copied the link and it came up with the wrong item.
If you type in Amazon Sky Light non stick frying pan that will take you to the correct item for some reason not bale to send the web link at this time

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/07/2020 13:57

Not what you asked, but I use cast iron and will never go back to non-stick. You do have to get used to it and have strong arms and wrists though!

RedCatBlueCat · 10/07/2020 14:05

Our Granite wok and frying pan is surviving MUCH better than any previous non stick pans.
We had one at a holiday house about 2 years ago, and are replacing the teflon ones as required.

WTFisthisabout · 10/07/2020 14:17

I bought one of these at half price for DS to take to uni. It's not fancy but it is a workhorse and it seems pretty much indestructible. It's survived 3 years of shared use in student houses and looks like new. I got it because you can use metal utensils on it and I thought a Tefal pan probably wouldn't survive Freshers' Week.

I've cooked with it and it's a decent weight and very non-stick. You can probably find a pan with the same finish but a bit less utilitarian.

WTFisthisabout · 10/07/2020 14:18

And it's dishwashersafe!

iklboo · 10/07/2020 14:24

We've got copper ones. Love them.

endlessginandtonic · 10/07/2020 14:28

We use the non stick Le Creuset for everyday cooking. You can dishwasher them although hand washing extends the life we were told.
