Range cookers arghhhhh

We've been rather pushed into having a range cooker, due to the fact that there was one here when we bought the house and to replace it with anything different would mean a total redesign - which we have thought about but it would probably cost in the region £10,000 (most of which would be having to move the boiler and rewire etc) and I don't really want to go down that route.

So on to the current range. It's gas made by Stoves - 4 cavities (I mainly use 1 and sometimes the grill), but it's all fur coat and no knickers ! The oven cavities is so small I've already had to buy smaller pans. If you try and use both ovens at the same time you can guarantee you won't get anywhere near an even heat and to be honest food will burn at the back of the oven where the flame is because it stays relatively high. I'm not a bad cook and enjoy it most of the time but this is driving me up the wall. Don't get me started on the burners - 7 of which you can use four at a push if you use a big frying pan on the 'middle' burner.

So we thought why not replace it with an all electric with induction hob but each time I find one that I think would work the reviews are terrible. I've looked at Smeg, Britannia, Belling, Leisure and Flavel; but IF I like the look of them, the reviews have been terrible.

Where do I go from here - if you have a range cooker can you give me your opinion ? Good and bad !

I’ve got a Rangemaster Classic

Another range master here.
Bought one at our old house about 10 years ago & loved it. I was gutted when we had to leave it behind when we moved so I bought another!

We got a Belling range after being told we had a 5 month wait for a Rangemaster. We decided to get something cheaper so that if we didn't like it we could sell it when Rangemaster were delivering again. But I love it!! It's really great for even cooking in the 2 ovens and 1 grill (which can also be a small 3rd oven). The trays we had for our Aga fit too. The induction top takes a little getting used to but I'm fine with it now, and the low simmer settings are great - you really can simmer very low when you want to, unlike the plug in spare ones we were using.

Can I please ask what you went for in the end @Pollyanna58 ? I am in exactly the same situation as you. New house, range cooker needs replacing.

Belling, stoves, rangemaster all have bad reviews somewhere. Mostly about poor customer service and spare parts being difficult to get.

I'd love to know peoples thoughts?

@coffeeneeded I went for Rangemaster in the end. I went to a local supplier and they had one on display so I got it reduced by about £500. Really happy with it. The induction is brilliant and the knobs don’t bother me as much as I thought they would.

Oooh excellent: thanks.

The rangemasters look good. 👍🏻

We've a rangemaster too, electric with induction hob.
It's got a big oven and a small one. The big fits a good amount in, but if we're just doing a small amount then the smaller oven takes less electric.
Love it.
