Best way to fix gaps in wallpaper?

Had someone in to do up the stairs, done a terrible job so DP and I decided we would do it ourselves in future. Done the living room wall but I'm noticing gaps. DP said he will take off from the noticeable part and re-do, I'm just wondering is there a easier/quicker way to fix this? We are new to this wallpapering thing so it's not the best. I only noticed it yesterday but can't unsee it now. Photo of the gap attached. It's not too bad everywhere else.

Filled in a gap in my kitchen paper that had shrunk over a radiator with a black felt pen!!

That is not a very big gap, and after a while, you tend to forget about a wallpaper mishap. I have had to bodge up wallpaper mishaps before. I would get a pencil.or a small tin of model paint in the same colour as the wallpaper, and fill the narrow gap in. I would not be ripping a strip of wallpaper off at all.

My sister had similar, she filled the gap with pen or paint and after that (especially if she’s papering in dark colours) she paints the wall first.

To be honest, I wonder if I'm being too picky. I'm usually like hawk eye so if it's took me a few weeks to notice maybe it's not as bad as I think, and due to the texture of the wallpaper it doesn't stand putt too much, but I know it's there. Definitely going to be painting under the wallpaper in a similar colour to the wallpaper in future!

I agree with the pencil idea. Don't shade it uniformly, just do vertical shading here and there to break up the line.

I will give the pencil idea a go, just a standard pencil do you think? The wallpaper has different tones so should work ok

Yes to trying to shade with a pencil. From the picture though I don’t think it looks bad at all. If someone else probably walked into the room I doubt they’d notice, it’s probably just bugging you because you know it’s there now and can’t unsee it!
