Falling on hard floors

Hi everyone, for the past couple of weeks my toddler of 13 months has occasionally cried a little and held his wrist. He does this for both wrists. It's usually once a day although a few days ago he did it a few times.
We suspect as he's leaving to walk, it's the continuous falling over onto his hands that's causing the discomfort. We have hard flooring in every room.
Has anyone else experienced this?
We've kept him from falling is forward for a few days but today he fell forward at least 3 times and I think set us back.
There's no bruising or swelling and he diesn't seem to be constant pain. I've squeezed it lightly and he's not flinched.
Any feedback much welcomed xx

I'd still take him for an x-ray. Bairns bones are bendy. My daughter fractured her wrist doing handstands, but as she carried on doing handstands I didn't take her for a few days as she was complaining of pain.

Rugs are the obvious answer tbh.

Or those foam jigsaw pieces type tiles you can get from b&q.

or a baby walker, that they lean on rather than are sat inside of.
