Does anyone else fall miserably at keto/low carb?

Being a (very) obese pre diabetic I thought this would be the answer, but 10 weeks of under 25g carbs and I've lost 6lb, that's it.
So hugely frustrating! Still have dreadful brain fog, constantly exhausted, absolutely no energy. Skin and hair look dreadful.
What's even more frustrating is my much slimmer friend is losing pounds and pounds!
I'm not drinking alcohol, drinking gallons of water and ensuring I'm getting enough salt. I suspect I have to accept this is not the diet for me Sad

I've never tried anything like it before and I had spent at least 3 years previously eating sensibly for a couple of weeks but with bread and potatoes always on the menu and then I wouldn't lose a single pound, so would then eat loads thinking 'what's the point?'
I use the Fitbit app to keep track of what I eat and I enjoy the food. I don't ever seem to be hungry (honestly) and I'm guessing this is because the food goes through you at a slower pace?
To be honest, I probably should study it all more but so far, so good 😊

Another one recommending fasting - try reading The Obesity Code by Jason Fung. Doesn't have to be with a keto diet but you could do moderately low carb if you wanted (50-75g per day) and might feel better? Anyway, carbs or not, fasting could help. It's working for me at the moment.

It's the health benefits of fasting which attracted me. Knowing that I was probably insulin resistant and that fasting would that. Instead of grazing/ drinking from 7am to 9pm dripping constant insulin into my system my body gets a long break.
I didn't know about autophagy then and that my rash and old scars would heal, or that my plantar fascitis would disappear. It's a revelation to never feel hungry and be on an even keel. Better sleep, more energy. But the idea must seem dreadful if you haven't researched the science behind it.

I’ve been low carbing for about 7/8 weeks now. Lost a load during the first two weeks (12lb) but have only lost about 2lb since then. I’ve been keeping it under 60g carbs per day, drinking all the water, walking 10,000 steps a day and intermittent fasting between 8pm and midday. And that’s it - 2lb in 5 weeks.

Tonight I thought fuck it and had a jacket potato for dinner and some apple strudel for pudding. Then this evening I’ve been craving food, had biscuits with my tea (only 2 but even so, unnecessary) and it showed how much better I am on low carb even without the weight loss, as my blood sugar has clearly gone a bit crazy tonight!!

I have under active thyroid so I know my metabolism doesn’t work the same as other people’s. I’m reliant on medication to function and I don’t have the capacity to over compensate with extra energy surges etc if I need them, I just crash!

I think I’ll take a couple of days to try and eat ‘normally’ (although not MY normal as that involves a LOT of cake!) then have another crack at low carb next week.
