So so sad. I can't believe how awful it must have been to die like that. I feel so sad for him and his family. I've been following this case for a bit and always feel so upset reading the updates.

Don't know why I'm posting but I just feel really sad about it Sad

Focusing on “how it was for him to die like that” is a bit grisly and I’m sure his widow and family are suffering enough through the court testimony.

Onceuponatimethen · 07/07/2020 17:22

@ArriettyJones I appreciate it is grisly but it IS highly relevant because this is the kind of factor that would be taken into account at any future sentencing

ArriettyJones · 07/07/2020 17:23

Sorry, maybe that was a bit blunt.

It happened near here and there’s been quite a bit of rubber necking of one sort or another.

Onceuponatimethen · 07/07/2020 17:23

Op I get you - it is so so sad to read about this case Flowers

I just meant for us to all sit around on MN contemplating the manner of his death. I’d rather leave to the jury, but as I say, it’s quite close to home.

Redglitter · 07/07/2020 17:28

I read the reports earlier in the year about the manner of his death. Made me feel physically sick. Horrific way to die. I hope the courts lock the people responsible uo for the rest of their miserable lives.

It must be absolutely devastating for his poor wife to hear

Violetroselily · 07/07/2020 17:36

It is truly horrific. I might be wrong but I think the accused are claiming they didnt know he was attached to the car? How the fuck can you be dragging along a fully grown man for a mile without noticing.

Samcro · 07/07/2020 17:42

It is horrific and i feel for his family, to have to hear all about it in court.

JacobReesMogadishu · 07/07/2020 17:48

A man is what 12 stone? To be honest once I’m moving After the initial pull off I don’t notice the weight of my caravan Which is 1400kg. I can kind of believe that from a driving/weight point of view you wouldn’t notice.

I just hope it was quick. Terrible event.

NiceTwin · 07/07/2020 17:53

Horrific incident.
Medical evidence suggests he would have been unconscious as soon as he hit the ground. There is some small mercy if that is the case.

In the early report of the incident, the DM had an extremely graphic picture of the scene. Thankfully, it was removed pretty quickly but that they thought it okay to publish is beyond disgusting.

Onceuponatimethen · 07/07/2020 18:05

@ArriettyJones I understand your opinion, but in the end there is a reason we have open courts with public reporting of verdicts, sentence length and sentencing remarks. So the public can see justice is being done.

Onceuponatimethen · 07/07/2020 18:06

@ArriettyJones I’m really sorry this is close to home for you

ArriettyJones · 07/07/2020 18:08

Yes, I do see that aide if it too. It’s just awful.

xsquared · 28/07/2020 09:54

The verdict is disappointing, I feel so sad for his widow and the rest of his family.

The contempt that those three lads showed in court was absolutely reprehensible. The photo of them laughing outside court in the paper made me sick.
