Books for DS13

I'm looking for for book suggestions to re-ignite DS13's love of reading. He's loved the usual series - Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and all the other Rick Riordan books, How to Train Your Dragon.

He does like to get immersed in a series of books but seems to have got stuck in a rut of reading and re-reading these same ones. I have suggested Hunger Games but he's not keen.

Does anyone have any great ideas? He has to read at least 3 new books over the summer holidays as part of an English project for school, getting a bit desperate to find things he will like!

Thanks for the suggestions, will get looking at those. Had forgotten about the Redwall series, that might be up his street.

Any more ideas anyone?

Ds is 17 in a couple of months and still re-reads the rangers apprentice series. Also warrior cats, which is obviously pitched younger but is still enjoyable. Holes is good but not a series afaik.

I was trying to encourage one of my dc to stretch himself with his reading as he'd got stuck in a rut. I googled book lists for the right age range and bought a selection - it seems to have opened his mind to new books.
