Massage gun?

My back is killing me and no amount of foam rolling or yoga is helping.
I used to have a massage ball that was like two tennis balls that did an ok job. When I tried to search for one, google autopopulated as 'massage gun'
I've never heard of these- can anyone tell me if they are any good and if so recommend a particular make?
Thanks!

I've got a handheld massage thingie that is really just an intense (and huge) vibrator. The main problem with it is that it's too heavy for me to hold in any positions necessary to massage my back!

Not sure if that's the sort of thing you mean, but anything capable of vibrating at sufficient velocity to soothe is really too heavy - you need someone else to hold it for you (and I'm single so I'm buggered).

Yes I think that's the kind of thing I mean. I do have a vaguely willing DH so could recruit him. Can you use it elsewhere eg calves and do you find it effective if you do?

I got my son one for his birthday last month - it has several strength settings and a few different attachments to mimic a thumb massage or an elbow massage etc. It was from this company:

reflexpro.co.uk/collections/percussion-massage-device

Sorry I don't know how to make it a clicky link!!

But it made itself a clicky link!!!! Grin

Thanks Blobby, those are erm a bit pricier than I was hoping for! Does it work well?

Have a look on Amazon - search for Renpho massager. I paid around £35 for mine. It is a bit heavy but I can manage to hold it for quite a while and it works wonders on my shoulders.

Mine is a bit too intense for calves, it also can be uncomfortable if used anywhere near boney bits like ankles. And it shakes too much to be propped anywhere. So, for a single person, it's pretty much next to useless - I'm going to check out Blobby's link...

I have a slim gym that I've had forever, and the pads allow targetted muscle relieve. It's one of those muscle workout machines with loads of pads. Lower settings are great for relieve.

I also have an ab belt that I can slide underneath for those mornings I cannot move.

Vibrator style go for a bullet. They are small and can be very powerful with different levels of intensity and like the above can have different rhythms of vibrations. Because of the size you can lay on them without discomfort of a bigger one and a lot lighter!!

For those who insist Ann Summers is the be all and end all, try Love Honey they use the same suppliers!!

Lol I've just googled the Gun. Put a bit of sponge on your drill 🤣

Wands are also very useful for the massage part, plus you can buy different attachments.

There are also some very useful finger vibrators for targeted areas.

@Zaphodsotherhead bullets don't hurt bones!!

NoHero according to my son it's the best thing since sliced bread! Takes a bit of experimenting with speed and pressure but definitely good to use in between deep tissue massages Grin. I got his half price btw so they do come on sale! Wouldn't have paid full price for it.
