Best age for Legoland

Been thinking of taking Dcs. They are 3.5 and just 5. A couple of people have said they're too young to properly enjoy it. They do both love Lego.

Is it worth going this year, or best left for a couple of years? I don't have loads of money so it won't be a yearly occurrence.

The 5 yr old would love it, the 3.5 yr old can definitely do rides, it’s whether they would be confident going on. My 2 first started going when they were 5 onwards and really enjoyed it.

Thank you, they do fairground rides together atm, including a fairly speedy runaway train Shock last time we went!
I suppose it's best to have another adult there for rides they'd need help on.

We took DS when he was 2.5 and he loved it. He couldn't do all of the rides but there was more than enough for him to do and we all really enjoyed it as Legoland is well thought out.
Although possibly if you have an older one with you too who wants to queue for rides makes it a bit more difficult. My DS absolutely loved the miniland because the little moving trains in the models and stuff really captivated him, and the playground areas etc, the little mountain train, lego building etc...
There are some things which are suitable for all - boat rides, carousel type rides etc...The driving schools (which seem to be everyones favourite) are for 2 different age groups - one is for 3-5 year olds but my 2 year old was definitely capable of driving the car and there is no height restriction - they just have to tell the staff member how old they are (hence a lot of "how old are you? no not 2, you're 3" questions in the queue!) The 5 year olds went on the one for 6 year olds and up as the younger one is way too simple for them.

My DD absolutely loved it at 5.

If you can take two adults, it might be best to deal with rides where 5yo wants to go on (but with adult) and 3.5yo doesn't.

We’ve gone regularly since DS was 3 he loves it his favourite is the submarine. Even if we pop in after school now that’s the one we must do. There’s so much to do and see even if you don’t do the rides. Most of it is suitable and clearly labelled. The only thing he doesn’t enjoy is the queues but I would assume right now and for a while they will be quite ok.

And also I think there are some rides where smaller children have to have an adult riding with them, sometimes on 2-seaters. I can't quite remember (I only have 1DC). Can anyone give more info on that?

We've visited Legoland every year since my two DS's were little, they're now 12 and 8.

We've had the most fun since they've both been of the minimum height so can go on all the 'adult' rides. It was a problem when the older one was tall enough and the younger one wasn't. It's good that yours are close in age and both will be going on the 'baby rides' of which there are plenty. You will need to make sure you go as two adults as some rides need one child, one parent. There are loads of rides they can go on,the splash park and the playgrounds which are really nice. There is a train around Legoland, the helicopter ride, the boats, the submarine, and the little driving school so plenty they can enjoy at their age. There is also a fairytale themed ride for little ones. We always take a picnic to save cash for ice cream or slushies and then a trip to the Lego shop at the end (no trip to Legoland is complete without a box of Lego to take home).

Look out on eBay for reliable sellers selling tickets. Normally The S*n does a yearly scheme where you collect the tokens and get two free tickets. If you can hold your nose you can collect them yourself or on eBay, many collectors sell their tickets. I've bought them loads of times with no problems, often managing to get 4 tickets for as little as £40. We've never ever paid full price and we've been about 10 times.
Personally, if I were you and with the current COVID situation, I would wait another year before taking them. I think your youngest would benefit from being a year older to get maximum enjoyment. Hope you have a great time whatever you decide to do x

DS was 5.5 when he went and keeps asking to go back as he had a fab time. It was his first theme park though so he might think that's the only place that does rides! His favourite part was staying overnight in the Legoland hotel though rather than the theme park itself. Some of the rides he couldn't do because of his height (and he's huge for his age!)
