Trying to take a new, less confrontational direction- what hobby?

I’ve had a few professional run ins recently and while I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong, I also think I need to step back from confrontation- I’ve had a shot at reforming my workplace, it’s not happening and I need to focus elsewhere for my sanity. I need a new hobby! I have aspirations of creativity but I’m not very good at crafts. I like cooking and am open to trying something new but I have limitations - lots of children and the unpredictability of work means I can’t commit to something that only happens at certain times. An activity with a thriving online community would be a bonus as I’m quite sociable. Any recommendations?

I am missing my pottery class so I was going to get some clay and crCk on with handbuilding at home. Lots of online ideas etc. Working with clay is very tactile which I find therapeutic. Wedging clay is very physical and a nice stress reliever too. I’m planning on getting the kids involved as well. Then I just need to find somewhere to fire my stuff!

Sewing. Buy yourself a cheap machine, pick an easy pattern, and get a cheap duvet cover for practise. It's actually easier than I thought, and there's You Tube for all kinds of tutorials and help. There's a lovely Sewing in the UK Facebook group too. It's the loveliest, least/no-drama Facebook group I'm in!
