Which would you recommend more? Particularly for young toddlers (2 and under)?

Peppa Pig land if you live close definitely much more of a full experience

Peppa pig/Paultons over CBeebies.

When we went a couple of years ago CBeebies land was looking in need of a refurb and there’s nothing else at Alton towers for the very little ones to do.

At pp world there’s also other rides around the theme park and it generally feels more geared toward the little ones. Always really clean and well maintained too

*disclaimer: Paultons is our local day out and we go a lot so a little biased and basing CBeebies opinion on a 2 day visit

Livingoffcoffee · 01/07/2020 18:30

Thanks. Both are roughly the same distance for us, about 2.5hrs. So would do one night at the hotel in order to get enough time out of it

Hi

Just to add the cbeebies hotel is brilliant! Took my ds for his 3rd birthday & would definitely go again & recomend. Lots of entertainment, staff were great :-)

CBeebies Land was very good for the first hour of the day before the queues got too long for a hot day. The Octonauts and In The Night Garden rides were favourites for our 4 and 2 year olds. If you only pay standard parking be prepared for a long walk with the kids.
We found there was less to do at CBeebies than at Peppa Pig world and because we went on a quiet day some of the rides for young children in other parts of the park were closed. So we were only really occupied for half a day.
Peppa pig world which is better kept, has more on offer, free parking and doesn't feel like the park is only after your money.

Mine are a bit older now, but we used to have season tickets to Paultons Park from when my youngest was about 2. There is (or at least were) a lot for younger ones around the whole park, not just in the PPW bit. e.g. free ride-ons (like you see in shopping centres/soft play) dotted around.

Quartz2208 · 01/07/2020 19:21

Paultons Park as well is fab with a dinosaur area and some other little rides

LunaLoveFood · 01/07/2020 19:34

Splash landing is great to do at Alton towers for all ages. We often go for an overnight stay and only go to the waterpark.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 01/07/2020 19:36

Peppa pig world - is it easy to cross over into the rest of the park? Is it a two day trip?

TeenPlusTwenties · 01/07/2020 19:52

Yes, very easy to move between the PPW bit and the rest.

re 2 day trip. I guess it depends on your stamina. Smile

You could definitely fill two days with school age kids, not so sure about toddlers, though I guess it depends on the queues and whether they want to do rides 5 times each.

Some nice restful bits like penguins and meerkats and 'kings don't take advice froms' (aka hornbills) and train ride if they are all still there.

And 2 water splash areas (PPW and on the other side), though I guess they might be closed right now.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 01/07/2020 20:06

Yes I’ve been checking online, the water areas at Peppa are closed. I’d love to take my 3 year old before winter so am keeping an eye and hoping things reopen. They seem to do a 2 for 1 day offer with a hotel, given that it’s two hours away I would probably do it.
Cbeebies big pull seems to be a pool so that seems pointless until open.

Quirrelsotherface · 01/07/2020 20:32

We haven't done cbeebies land but paultons is brilliant. PPW is so well done, great rides, even our 7 year old loved it. Nothing looks tired there, everything very clean and well maintained. The dinosaur bit was great and there are so many other rides for little ones in the rest of the park, even for tiny ones (my youngest is 2).

mindutopia · 01/07/2020 21:14

I have only been to Paulton’s/Peppa Pig World, but honestly I’m not sure it warrants an overnight stay. I wouldn’t drive 2.5 hours for it. It’s okay, but not that great. There is absolutely no way I’d go there in the next 4-6 months.

I did enjoy it with my much older one when we could go on the bigger rides. But Peppa Pig World itself is a bit underwhelming. It was a lot of waiting in long queues for nothing much.

A nice socially distanced day at the seaside and some ice cream and arcades is probably better value. I have a 2 year old now and I definitely wouldn’t plan to take him there.

bashcrashfall · 01/07/2020 21:50

I live about 15mins from PPW and my youngest has never been, my eldest has been twice (only once with me!). Its like any other theme park - painfully expensive, long queues - even out of term time - and those queues are full of preschoolers, toddlers and babies who by nature can't queue. Not my idea of a fun day out.
