Garlic & coriander naan with lasagna - yes or no?

BonestoBones · 01/07/2020 17:51

I'm using things up for dinner. I have lasagna, salad etc but I know DP will ask for garlic bread. Do I use the naans? I'm not going to the shop either.

Yeh it’s fine! I’d add more garlic and butter. No point buying more food when you already have food to eat.

PurBal · 01/07/2020 18:35

Not in this household.

Babdoc · 01/07/2020 18:48

There’s already plenty of carbohydrate in your dinner, in the pasta sheets. Why do you want to add yet another source in the form of bread? Unless your lasagne portions are very small, or you have a heavy manual job, the extra calories aren’t needed. Indeed, with the cheese sauce, lasagne is a pretty calorie dense meal already (yummy though it be!)
It would be healthier to add more veg or salad instead.

Because I always like an update on a thread...naan was used and although a little dry for lasagna was a fine substitute. Although to all the pp suggesting butter I should have done that but only read after we had eaten. Plus there is naan left over for tomorrows adventure of freezer curry (only God knows when it was made Grin)

DP & I would eat it.

BonestoBones · 01/07/2020 18:58

@Babdoc yeah I know but DP works long hours outside all day in all weathers and rarely eats lunch as he is busy and self employed.

Definitely! Put some grated garlic and a bit of butter on top. Might be a new favourite thing!

TimeWastingButFun · 01/07/2020 19:03

Funny this love-it-or-hate-it thing about coriander, it really does have divided opinions!

thisstooshallpass · 01/07/2020 19:04

Yeah - with extra butter and garlic!

Vagndidit · 01/07/2020 19:07

No, absolutely not. Freeze the naan, save for a curry night. H can get his own garlic bread.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 01/07/2020 19:19

Whatever you like. Call it fusion food if you want... You're unlikely to be hauled in front of the international court of dinner 😂

clpsmum · 01/07/2020 19:25

Absolutely yes

CatBatCat · 01/07/2020 19:27

No, but I wouldn't have double carbs.

bluefoxmug · 01/07/2020 19:27

would taste fine.
though I personally think bread with lasagna is a bit much.

Jolonglegs · 01/07/2020 19:39

No!

Quackersandcheese3 · 01/07/2020 19:45

Yes do it!

BonestoBones · 01/07/2020 19:48

@LadyMonicaBaddingham international court of dinner 😂 thanks

BobFleming · 01/07/2020 19:54

We wouldn't as that's double carbs! But if that's the norm for you - why not?

Russell19 · 01/07/2020 20:06

No way!

UnfinishedSymphon · 01/07/2020 20:18

No because coriander is vile

Saucery · 01/07/2020 20:25

ROFL at the Carb Police on here.

Well, if that’s your norm.... Grin Grin

Cetado · 01/07/2020 20:37

Glad you enjoyed it, I've used them interchangeably before when I've only had garlic bread in and wanted a curry or Italian with naan.

I love double carbs, I'm fond of a Mac and cheese sandwich Grin

Bluebell1995 · 01/07/2020 20:55

I'd freeze it!
