Hi all,

What do you plan on doing to keep your kids entertained during summer?
I thought this thread could help everyone and give options to people on what to do during this summer

Cottage holiday for a week

Outdoor holiday camp for a week

Having friends round

Pool in the garden (10ft frame type)

No, idea. I think lockdown has completely depleted my stock of 'fun things to do at home' and 'interesting local places to go'

I'm hoping more leisure places start opening up and that we can manage playdates- though DC's best friends parents are very cautious about CV, so not sure if we will.

I have an internal coumtdown to September

Bike rides

Blackberry picking

Disney plus!

I'm interested in what those with older kids have planned. Mine are 15 & 12 most of my suggestions are boring apparently. They understandably just want to be out with their friends but it's not as easy as that. We don't have any health issues but I am still expecting them to follow the guidelines.

Our local farms are opening back up to visitors so that's a day out for us.

Hoping as PP said more things will be open again. Otherwise it's going to be hard to have anything new to do.

I'm interested in what those with older kids have planned.

My 13 year old has been working pretty solidly on school work on Teams since lockdown, so he will be enjoying a break. He is back at football training and is beginning to make more requests to meet up with friends to play football in the park recently.

My 16 year old had GCSE's, prom, summer of fun and independence effectively cancelled 😢, so I am encouraging her to meet up with friends for walks, garden hang outs etc.

We have pretty much had enough of each other now, so I'm glad we have a uk cottage near the beach booked at the start of August for a change of scenery!
