Kids aged 6-16.

There must be something we can all watch together?!

Grateful for any recommendations.

Tia

The 8 & 10 year olds laughed like drains at the floor is lava on Netflix the other day. It is very same, very quickly but inoffensive family viewing.

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 01/07/2020 00:22

I'm a terrible person but we all watch Brooklyn 99 and older clips from SNL on YouTube. Grin😐

Both slightly unsuitable perhaps, but anything inappropriate goes over the head of the 7yo

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 01/07/2020 00:24

Modern Family maybe?

boatyardblues · 01/07/2020 00:24

Nailed it! It’s a kind of anti bake-off where 3 hilariously inept bakers battle it out to recreate very technically demanding cakes in way too little time for a $10k prize. The results are very funny. We’ve only watched the US series, but its spawned lots of international versions. It made us all laugh a lot.

I watched a film with Sofia Carson (Descendents) yesterday `On the beat' I think, it's a dance movie so any dancers in the family will love it.

We loved Nailed it and managed to watch it in every language, you can tell alot by the body language and also Zumbos which is talented bakers. If you like that sort of programme there's also a flower arranging and glass blowing ones too, it's amazing how knowledgeable you can get over a skill you've never seen before.

DD loved floor is Lava, it's very samey but OK.

boatyardblues · 01/07/2020 00:33

Oh yes, the glass blowing one (serious contestants) was great. Amazing how someone’s creation could suddenly shatter & take them out of contention. Quite stressful to watch but fascinating.

We watched 'Merlin' (BBC) - five seasons!- which was great. Also 'The Durrells' which was funny and warm, however may just be slightly too old for a six year old....worth a try. Also watched a Netflix original about knights/quests etc called 'A Letter for the King'.
We're now watching Poldark! Occasionally we have to fast forward through slightly racy bits but it's a 12 certificate.
My two are 10 and 13. We've had to look around quite a lot for good family drama/comedy- I reckon it's a gap in the market!

Crackery · 01/07/2020 14:40

Thanks folks. I'll check a few of these out.

Are you after a film or series?

Currently watching The Durrells. Youngest is slightly older than your youngest and not especially into it but the others enjoy it.

We all really enjoyed Will Ferrell's Eurovision film last weekend. First time we had found a film that appealed to everyone in a while!

FTMF30 · 01/07/2020 14:52

I love the film 'Sing'. Well it's an animation but I enjoyed it and I'm much older than your kids Smile.

New jumanji films?
Stardust or things like that
