Hi,
I take Forceval multivitamins, iron, calcium & vitamin B and get vitamin B12 shots, all on prescription.

I'm adding to that: folic acid, vit c, omega 3 fish oil, evening p oil.

I am not sure the best times of day / combination to take these in?

My dietician has retired and my GP 'doesnt know'.

Does it matter?

You're doubling up a fair bit there, with multi vits then MORE vit b, folic acid (which is B9) and vit C. What's the reason for that?

It won't make much difference. Maybe take the iron and C together but make sure you're not doubling up on any vitamin A.

Take vitamin c with the iron, b vitamins and folic acid (helps absorption).
Take the calcium separately to the rest by at least an hour (some can interfere with absorption if taken together).
The others whenever you want!

thank you!

I am doubling up a fair bit' - true - but i have difficulty in absorbing through my stomach and my iron / ferritin / D / B is still low

i take the iron with a small glass of OJ but it makes sense to take it with the vit C as that's the same thing without the sugar !

I take the calcium alone last thing at night.

Do I need to avoid coffee for around 2 hours before / after any of these?

Not that I know of.

what do you mean 'the GP doesn't know?' He/she has access to lots of real guidance and should look it up.

Just says: 'ask the (now non existent) Dietician.

Same GP told me: 'most women sail through the menopause, if you find it difficult, speak to the chemist'.

Head GP of rural practice so not much choice.
