A really fancy bottle of gin.

A cocktail shaker set, a very indulgent gift that people generally don't buy fir themselves

Definitely vouchers or something consumable.

Part of the excitement of having their own house is choosing what they want in it. They may not like something they are given but still feel like they have to display it.

Something useful (like the cheese board suggested) might work, but consider how much storage space they have. My first kitchen was tiny and it made it harder to store what we needed to have in it, when we also had to store the fancy kitchen items that we almost never used.

I tend to agree, we were given a cheeseboard set and a cocktail set as wedding presents, neither were used and took up precious space in a small kitchen so they ended up being charity shopped.

I might just go for a John Lewis gift card and some champagne. Or is that lazy Blush

I think it's fine. So long as they like champagne!
