Are bed canopies / mosquito nets safe?

About to winkle DD age 2.5 out of our room and in to her own bed.

She's very taken with a friend's bed that has one of those lovely floaty canopies above it.

I can't help but think it could be a suffocation risk though, especially as she wiggles around so much in her sleep.

I've googled it and not a lot of info out there about using these bed canopies for older toddlers.

What do you guys think?

I wouldn’t personally until she is older. If you have any hint of a doubt, don’t do it.
Good luck with the new bedroom 😊

Can you attach the hanging down bits to the wall so it's not trailing anywhere she could get tangled in it, but where she could still see it attached to her bed?

I'd be hesitant to have it loose just in case!!

No they are not and they come with a warning that they are for decorative use only. IKEA stopped selling them for beds a few years ago after there were 11 reports of children being strangled.

It’s also utterly revolting when your dd vomits in the middle of the night.
