I’m planning a glow up, and I need you help!
I’m currently very overweight but losing and can probably manage another 2 stone before I go back to work in September.
I want my weight loss to have a big impact on my image, as I’ll still be over weight but am sure I’ll look at feel a lot better.

I guess I want to improve the way I look in more than just my size. I’ve neglected myself for years, having young children etc.
What can I do for maximum impact?!

What's a glow up? I too need to lose just over 2 stone xx

I would also put a good and easy to follow skin and hair care routine in placeSmile good luck!

Eyebrows
Lashes (even if you just get a lift)
Sort teeth and teeth whitening
Great colour and cut
Good manicure and pedicure
Good fake tan will make all the difference

Getting into a good exfoliating, moisturising and fake tan routine.
It takes effort but honestly makes me look and feel a million times better and obviously there’s nothing more ageing than damage from a real tan.

@Yellowpepper2010 it’s like a ‘make over’ but can include lots of elements, not just a hair style and new wardrobe.

@4sandie what would you consider a good hair care routine? Mines awful, it’s fine and I can never decide whether I’m a blow dry or scrunch/wave kind of person.

@EnoughAlready2020 @Turnedouttoes do you have recommendations for good fake tan? I am so pale, always have been. Should I try spray tans first? I’ve fancied trying one of those booths you stand in

Absolutely get a decent skincare routine that is within your budget both time and money wise (or you will never stick to it) and that suits your skin.

The difference it makes is remarkable.

Ditto eyebrows. Under normal circumstances I get mine waxed about three/four times a year and keep on top with tweezers in between. Mine are quite dark already so I don't bother tinting them but would recommend it if they are very pale.

Clothes that fit properly. Might involve taking a things to the tailor. Better to buy a bit big and get bits taken in than the 'right' size and have it not fit properly. A £10 primark dress can look like an £80 dress with a good tailor. Wear stuff that makes you feel fabulous whatever that might be. It will absolutely shine through in your demeanour.

No tatty shoes. They don't have to be break the bank expensive, but no scuffs/holes/not dirty.

Take care of nails including cuticles. Doesn't have to mean getting gels and manicures all the time but keep them a reasonable length, clean, shaped and buffed. A bit of cuticle oil goes a long way.

Sunscreen and plenty of it. Skin cancer is not sexy.

Make sure your hair is healthy looking, whatever colour or style you choose. But length rats tails will never look as good as a healthy shiny bob, but a fried and frizzy crop will equally never look as good as long healthy locks.

A good hair dresser should be able to recommend a colour and cut that will bring out the best of your features.

Long term look after teeth.

Try to get as much sleep as you need, rather than as little as you can function on. For me (and my df) that is a minimum of 8 hours, for my dp and dm, it is 6 (lucky sods). For my ds it's 11. Everyone's sleep needs are different. Find yours and meet them.

I’m slightly fake tan addicted and use Bondi Sands Ultra Dark. However if you’re very pale I’d start with a light one and then build up once you’re confident applying it. The Isle of Paradise drops are also good and you can just add them to your moisturiser

I also swear by a mitt like this rather than one of the plasticky ones but really it’s all in the prep of making sure you’ve really exfoliated and the skin is smooth - www.amazon.co.uk/Tanning-Applicator-Physics-Sunless-Application/dp/B07DCKLLYY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&psc=1&keywords=fake+tan+mitt&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExOVM1N0Y5QUtSVzI0JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODg4ODE1M0EyUU4yNkJSM0NSTyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwODU3OTI3Q0tXRjVVWUU3UVpZJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfcGhvbmVfc2VhcmNoX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1593124860&sr=8-1-spons
