Come and tell me all about your BATHROOM TOWELS

I know, I can't contain myself either.

I never do a white wash, however I read the white bedding thread the other week, and have ordered some. I have a child who will also be needing white shirts from September. The time has come to embrace the white

My question is, I want white bathroom towels now, but am I mad? We are quite muddy people. I'd like half decent ones, but on a budget, and at the minute all our towels are ancient and mismatched. The thought of just having everything white and therefore automatically matching is v appealing.

Any suggestions? Will they go all grey and yucky?

I wouldn't.

I like white towels too. I've lots of them, I wash them together at 60 degrees with bio detergent and they are still white.

We do, never been a problem. Two kids and a dog.

I was just getting white towels out of the airing cupboard and reminded my husband that we got them in 2003! Still bright white and still look and feel great. They were from White Company but before the prices went crazy.

Sunshine dry is best my daughter is shocked st what the sun does she has stained (turmeric) tea towels from uni she couldn't get clean they are only allowed to use the dryer at uni one wash and line dry has already faded the stains

Yesterdayforgotten · 25/06/2020 21:47

I hate white towels as they seem too hotel like and formal to me. I like colours but admittedly matching ones would be nice.

Elderflowerdelight · 25/06/2020 22:00

Fortunately or unfortunately my house will never look formal or anything approaching it Grin I thought the white would be peaceful to be honest. Nothing else in the house matches!

I've ordered some Napisan. Can you use it on coloured clothes?

Glow white is also good for keeping whites white.

AlCalavicci · 25/06/2020 22:41

I have some white ones , they were a wedding gift almost 20 years ago . They still look great , no special treatment for them they get bungged in with all of the light coloured clothing

FlamingoAndJohn · 25/06/2020 23:02

I use Napisan on tops that are white with a colour on them, for example but not in a dark wash.

climbingcorfecastle · 26/06/2020 06:24

Wouldn't contemplate getting white but I bought all of my towels from Dunelm last year and they are great quality.

megrichardson · 26/06/2020 06:35

Always have white towels, wash at 60 degrees and line dry where possible.

SpillTheTeaa · 26/06/2020 06:44

I HAD white towels but DP ruined them. He must have had oily hands! All my towels and bathroom mats etc go on a 60. Now got purple and grey towels

pinkcattydude · 26/06/2020 06:52

Always had white. 60 degree wash with bio tablets and they stay white no problem. Same with bed linen. They only go grey if you mix them or use nonbio too often. I use tablets (Aldi green ones) rather than gel as they are better at bleaching. I use the Persil purple gel for everything else.

I love my white bedding and wouldn't dream of having colours but we do have coloured towels - makes it much easier to keep track of whose towel is whose. The bath sheets I use are white or cream but other family members have diffetent colours. And white hand towels are a disaster ... well they are if you aren't one of those laundry martyrs who changes the towel as soon as someone touches it.

Towels go in separate 60 degree wash loads here - would wash with bedding but certainly not clothes.

I wanted to buy some basic priced towels when kitting DD out for University last year so went to Dunelm. Agree with a pp that they are fantastic quality for the price. And lovely colours too.
