What are dentists open for at the moment?

Does anyone know what issues dentists are treating atm? I’ve seen they’re open/opening, but not for routine appts.

I’ve had constant headaches along with cheek and eye pain for the last 6-8 weeks. Had an eye test, all fine. But I do have a very manky impacted wisdom tooth on my upper jaw, on the side I’m getting the pain/headaches. I’m now wondering if it’s the tooth causing the pain. I’ve had a look, and its only partially through, but (apologies if tmi) very black. I sometimes get a horrid smell from it too. It’s physically impossible to get a brush round it, so that’s probably why. It needs to be pulled.

Is this something a dentist would deal with yet, or do I have to keep waiting?

I got a text today saying they had to cancel my appointment for a check up because they were only open for severe emergencies.

Emergencies and assessments only. No drilling, filling, extractions or hygiene.

I had a call earlier as I was booked in for next Friday.

No check ups but any pain, they would see me.

I had my wisdom tooth extracted last week.

My hygienist appointment was cancelled as they don't expect to have PPE until late July.

Ah, a mixed bag! Since it’s not a definite “no way!” I’ll try and see if I can find one that might pull my tooth then. This is making me utterly miserable.
Thank you!

It depends on your practice, you'd have to contact them to find out. Mine is only open for emergencies, it's a private practice but they do a lot of NHS work. My DSis dentist is open as usual for everything. They are a private practice too and do very little NHS work. I'm not sure if it would be easier or harder for private vs NHS or no difference?
